YOU paid for it?
 
Berkeley payed for 10Mbps of extra bandwidth (I'd assume Seti@Home is given exclusive priority to this) using the over $5000 US donated to them by "us", the users, over the last few months. Something must have been changed, because available bandwidth dropped suddenly....I doubt students decided to all begin downloading porn at the same time.
 
I wonder if Berkeley is following the suggestion somebody here made on the SETI forums, about giving SETI higher priority during off hours? Who was that, anyway, and what was the suggestion?

And look, the rate's bouncing back! 🙂
