I've heard that before, and it's not too far off base, and unfortunately, it didn't have anything to do with the current illegal wiretapping dumbya is touting as perfectly legal and within the constitution.

Thisis a repost from a couple of weeks ago.

I saw it long ago.
Doesn't make it untrue.

Nor does it make it true.

the technology to create that kind of scenario existed long ago.

Never said it didn't, but that doesn't get at the reality of this kind of scenario actually occurring in the future. Most ads from the ACLU, including this one, I don?t take just a grain of salt, but a huge chunk. This ad, only reinforces the aforementioned.

That's where I disagree. ID cards, as long as they do not contain RFID chips that are readable from more than a couple of inches away, do not infringe on any rights I can think of.

The least we can do to actually help our law enforcement, is to standardize the ID system. Pretty much every other country in the world does it - it's called a PASSPORT... Wherefore in the U.S. you only get a passport if you travel abroad, everywhere else it's the ultimate form of identification.

We still have ID cards that are available to anyone of any age. Also, the main worry is how much information will be attached to said card. Who and I and where I live is fine. Medical information, tax information, should not be on the same database.

I didn't think it was that realistic. In the future people will also be able to access DNA databases, and I didn't see a reference to that in the ad. There should also be a pop-up about whether or not the customer supports the president and thus whether or not he's a terrorist.
