The future of Socket 478?

Does anyone know if Socket 478 will be used for the next generation Intel CPU's? I'm seriously considering moving from an AMD platform to Intel, but it would be nice to know if the socket 478 will be around long enough to survive an upgrade.

AFAIK, the Prescott will be socket 478, but I don't believe that any of the current chipsets will support that core revision, which is coming out later this year. OTOH, AMD's new line of CPU's coming out this year will require new motherboards also because they are not socket A. Peace.
