I’ve been thinking about the greater good for this country. I’m middle class and have decided that I am going to pay an extra $10 on my taxes this year in order to help out. I hope that it brings more jobs to this country.

By doing this you have basically deprived someone in the private sector of an hour worth of labor. You could have spend that $10 on a coffee or lunch or a CD, etc, which would support jobs in those sectors. All the government does with tax dollars is literally destroy them (to erase dollars made up out of thin air by the FED to support government deficit spending).
