Good for you man! Good to see that you are getting better... I too went on a crazy spending spree now that I am single, got the spare cash on hand... I'd say through 2004 I'm up to around $2500 spent, but mine is on more useless stuff...

Countless trips to Hooters, $300 for AFC Championship game tix, computer parts, surround sound, DVDs, CDs, useless media crap! Its great!

Nice! I will get to the frivoulous items soon enough. :)

I want to be completely ready for the final move. Right now neither one of us wants to move out of our apartment, which I must say is a great place, it is cheap and a great place, no way either of us could replace it
without paying $100 or more per month minimum than what it is now. So if she ends up having to move out, then i need all the stuff she is going to take with her...if I move out then...you get the picture. :)

Got a bonus at work yesterday, taking it and going to buy my end tables, coffeee table and Lamps for the living room. The sofa and chair/ottoman will come later on.
And then.....big screen tv babay!

Exactly what I was thinking. I didn't read through the entire thread, but are you hiding this stuff somewhere? If not then she's gonna want some of the new stuff as well.

Since we have signed the paperwork to start the divorce proceedings, I can buy whatever I want to without her getting half of it. As long as it is for my new place and not some big ticket item like a snowmobile or boat or ATV. Things like furniture, kitchen items, etc are considered a neccesity and can be purchased at will.

I was nervous about buying all this stuff, but my lawyer said go ahead, it doesnt matter, its for living and not for frivolity.
Now I need to buy some more stuff, I am holding off on the really big items until I know more about a timeline for the final divorce, it could be a year or more that we live togethor like this, but I can hold out as long as she can.

I just got back from Macy's where I got a set of cookware for $29. I love reading your shopping experiences.

My circumstances aren't the same, but I asked my lawyers - they said it shows that you are making a serious effort to be a responsible parent, which can't hurt. Also, they said save all the receipts and lists - but you know that already.

Yes, and apparently now that you are broken up you have lots of time to make long, pointless, detailed threads on ATOT about everything that you do...congrats.
