The fried egg poll

Just a fried egg, by itself. Forget the terms over-easy, sunny-side up...but your perfect fried egg to you.

Scramblers - make your own thread!

I enjoy my eggs over easy. Love a runny yolk.

I had some awesome eggs benedict few days ago. Looooove eggs benedict

Over medium and/or basted. NO runny whites.

The yolk can be anywhere from "dip egg" runny to solid as hell...just NO snotty egg whites.

They are great with a bit of hot sauce on them.
Very true, they are good like that. BUT, fried eggs are good with hot sauce also.

Poached egg trumps any egg there is.

Now we have decent votes we can get into what "over easy" means.

The over means a flip, easy is on the finish after the flip (yolk). I prefer an "over easy" - that should result in some run in the white and a runny yolk.

For over easy - once albumen starts turning white halfway through, flip it and maybe 20-30 seconds later take it off and serve. Whites have a touch runny to them and yolk is perfectly smooth and drippy.

Over medium is softly firm white, mostly runny yolk

Sunny-side is no turn and runny white/yolk. I love you egg, egg!

Sunny motherfucking side up! Yolk "dipping" runny, without question.

My French grandmother, who married an Englishman, showed me the way.

. . . And that is, a soft boiled egg is BY FAR the most intimate, flavor nuanced way you can experience the protein rich goodness of an egg.

Nothing else comes close!

Of course, being an American raised in the '50's-'60's, yes, scrambled eggs with ketchup is also a comfort food, lol.

The sublime and the profane of egg consumption . . . I am EVERYMAN! 😛

Yes, almost. Soft boiling even more so, but I take your point, Sir! 😛

They're basically the same thing dummy. One is in the shell, the other is not.
😀

I love you egg, egg!

Yes. As I said, almost.

One has you violating the sacred vessel of the mother hen, rending it asunder with barbarian ferocity and near-simian unconcern . . . and soft boiling an egg DOES NOT.

Tu as compris? 😛

softly firm white part w/ little runny, mostly cooked yolk(yellow part)

on the scrambled side: solid, not runny, w/ a dash of garlic salt, onion powder, and fresh ground pepper added before cooking
