Err, none of those would count as fries in my books.

So do you then courteously abstain?

When the thread title says The French Fry Poll, I expected to find home style at least. But I voted anyway since I am a sheep.

Your efforts do not go unappreciated :)
It seems there is a call for a less authoritarian, more liberal french fry poll... but I'm not making it :p

I like McDonald's style fries with just a HINT of crispiness, lots of salt and that's it.

I don't much like the short, thin crunchy ones you always get in the box and hate when they are over-cooked.

I strongly prefer McDonald's frys (I go there for frys, nothing else usually). I eat them with just salt. No need for any ketchup etc.

When I make frys at home, I usually mix ketchup & mayo together for my frys.

Yeak, Wendy's frys are too soggy. Burger Kings are just plain nasty, I won't eat them (not sure if they have changed the recipe lately).

For the east coast, you have Nathans.

For the west coast, you have In'N'Out Burger.

I LOVE In-N-Out, but their fries are decent at best, and when they cool even slightly they start to go downhill faaaaast.

West coast Jack In The Box's Natural Fries if they're hot are really hard to beat.

Never been to NY but I wanna eat at Nathens.

Crispy with catsup. Though I prefer new potatoes cut in wedges, tossed with olive oil, herbs, and sea salt, and cooked in a hot oven on a pizza stone until crispy.

I voted crispy, McD, ketchup, once in awhile but, sadly, french fries were the first thing to go when I went lowish carb so I eat them maybe once a year.

I like my fries any way, but I hate those stupid little fries they give you in the fast food chains. Mustard, mayo and ketchup are really good on the thick cut, slimy like fries. Mayo and ketchup on the small McDonalds fries.

Has anyone ever had fries from Rally's/Checkers? The restaurants a few and far in between but their fries are amazing! double coated and crispy.

No Rally's by me but there's one about 2 miles from my GF's house, damn good whatever they batter them in. Sometimes I get ones with cheese, ranch & bacon, delicious!

Lightly crispy. Not soggy, not limp, not flaccid (remove minds from gutter). Firm is good, but not too hard. I don't really care for any crunchy foods.

Firm, Burger King, Ketchup, HELL YES IN THE FROSTY

I loved my college's fries and I would dip them in a mayo/ketchup blend or honey mustard. Those were and will always be the best fries.

You gotta dip your Wendy's fries in the Frosty... it's the only thing that makes them edible.

Oh yeah, when I have fries and country gravy at the same time, they're good together.
