I ordered the Apple bumper and was another August 27th ship date person. To my surprise, I got an E-Mail today that the bumper shipped! That was fast, and a very nice surprise!

Kinda bummed that the white iP4 is now delayed until later this year. What are the chances it's being delayed so they can do something to improve that antenna situation?

Damn, I thought the white Iphone 4 are to be release this Friday July 30. What is the expected release date? I don't think I want to wait if the release date is end of year. I might go today and pick up the black one.

I'd be pretty surprised if you can just "pick up" a black one. Places I've called are still quite backordered and out of stock.

Do you have an Apple store near you? If so, call and get put on their iPhone 4 Notification List. Took me about 4 days to get mine in.

I downloaded and ordered the black bumper (might as well get the most expensive option was my thinking) and I got an email confirmation stating a ship date of Aug 27th. I ordered approximately around 1pm eastern this afternoon.

Just figured I'd update. Got an email early this morning stating my black bumper has shipped. I went back to verify that my order acknowledgment does state a ship date of August 27th and delivery by September 1st, but it instead shipped on July 27th. Possible issues with the dates on their acknowledgment emails?

I just got a shipment confirmation email that says my bumper will be delivered by Aug 4th. It also gave a tracking number, and when I checked the DHL website it says the bumper is in transit; currently in Carson, CA.

Unless DHL is walking it here from Carson I don't think it will take a week.

So, I guess Apple has been following the 'ol promise less, deliver more philosophy on this one...

Most shipping companies I've used will sit on your package until it's supposed to be delivered. Even if they CAN get it to you early, they rarely do.

Got the Speck Pixelskin HD, seemed like the best choice with the Griffin Reveal Etch... I just hope it's not as grippy as my old Blackberry silicone case. That thing would turn my pocket inside out when taking out my phone.

Ship date is sometime in September, but I'm sure I'll get it before that. I might grab a bumper in the meantime, the antenna issue is for real on this phone.
