and it's gonna be *great*.

Now I personally prefer MSNBC, but that's because I'm a liberal elitist socialist marxist muslim terrorist celebrity supporting democrat. (Did I miss any?)

Anyone else plan on watching the network opposite the winner to see what happens?

Fox will slash its wrists, but after those numbers showing how biased MSNBC is, it's just as bad as fox except on the other side of the spectrum and thus is no better at all.

Implode as in "oh shit, our guy lost"

If that's the case, I'd assume it's going to be Fox.

Fox favors McCain and MSNBC favors Obama. The difference is that Fox is much more "mean spirited" about it.

Anyone remember watching the MSM on election day 1994???

The looks on their faces when they announced that the Republicans had taken over congress was pretty amazing. Like someone had just cancelled Christmas.

Everyone expects Obama to win so I don't think we will see implosion if he does win. But if McCain pulls the upset watch for a lot of hateful comments and a lot of "racist voters" type comments.

I actually watch that show occasionally. He's long accepted that Obama's going to win. He may be a lifelong conservative (his words), but he's not a rabid one.

The parts I saw definitely showed him leaning Republican/McCain but I didn't watch it long enough to get a feel for if there was bias.

If MSNBC implodes, any no one is watching (their normal), do they still make a whimper (their normal)?

Fox News out rates & outbooks MSNBC ( The All Obama, All the time Channel) by many multiples. Kind of like Air America with video.

That's because Republicans can't stand to hear anything that that's not propaganda.

At least MSNBC doesn't preach themselves as being fair and balanced.

I used to like MSNBC....but now it's a lot like FOX....like watching a bunch of freaks with an occasionaly sane person here and there.

CNN is the only real and most centrist news network IMO.

I personally like Joe Scarborough. He represents what is good about some politicians.

He is someone that isn't afraid to state his beliefs, admit when he is wrong and willing to listen to the other side even if he doesn't agree with them in the end.

meh. fox news will keep on chugging along after Obama wins. they might find themselves being the only news outlet to be critical of the new administration, which would be a laughable change from the Bush years.

if any station is on the verge of implosion, it's MSNBC, but not for political reasons.

I don't care, all I know is that Rachel Maddow = I'd hit it. Even if she is gay. ;)

I think Mika has a lesbian crush on Palin :Q

MSNBC ftw. I was listening (and not really paying attention) but in my non-caffeinated brain I thought I heard Joe comment toward Peggy Noonan and describe her as a Republican conservative.

If my brain was working correctly Noonan responded, "I'm a conservative."

When Peggy Noonan tosses the Republican brand I take that to mean the next 2-4 years are going to get interesting for the Red Team.

I think the Republican party needs to choose between the Fundies and true 'cloth coat' conservatism. They would be surprised the number of 'Blue Dogs' (me included) who would be willing to move the country forward with them in a nonpartisan fashion.

He does alright - most of the time. He does go 'rabid' every now and again and it kinda make me uncomfortable.

Fox will actually increase in ratings if (when? lol) Obama wins. Same thing happens with Rush and the rest of the bobble-headed brainless gasbags. With the loss of power, the only thing they can do is band together and bitch about it. Fuck em.

If McCain wins MSNBC will be chaos. I think Fox will be somewhat more restrained because they expect to lose, but I'm still interested to see what happens. Foxes coverage after Debate 3 was very interesting (they seemed depressed).

I actually like to watch MSNBC to see David Gregory, Chuck Todd, Brian Williams, and Tom Brokaw. I also like Rachel Maddow, she is obviously very liberal but she seems less "insane" than Olberman. I enjoy her interviews a lot. Matthews is hit or miss, sometimes I think he makes good points, sometimes I think he goes off the deepend. Samething applies to Olberman.

I like Joe, and I like listening to Pat Buchanan (though he is kinda nuts imo).

Fox commentators just seem so vindictive most of the time. I get the feeling they "hate" the other side, where as

Although they still don't give all the facts, they at least try to keep it centered and un-biased for the most part.

yeah, pretty much.

it's a lot easier to tear down a president than support him and makes for better listening if you don't like him in the first place, which I guess is who their audiences are.

^ that is very true.

Look at our forum with the amount of anti-Bush threads that don't offer anything other than complaints.

From a business standpoint FOX would love for Obama to win. Think back to where FOX got its start, the Clinton years. They made their name viciously attacking Clinton at every possible opportunitey. (I found it interesting how few people noticed when they transformed into a presidential lapdog all of a sudden in mid January 2001)

I think MSNBC lived off of the sheer hatred that the majority of the country has for Bush, and when he is gone I don't think the network is strong enough to keep its ratings up. Olbermann and Maddow might do okay, but the rest of the network will be back in the toilet.

I'm wondering how things will go with the Daily Show. It's so easy to make fun of Bush and the Republicans that we've had 8 straight years of amazing episodes. Obama's just not as easy (look at the 1/2 hour news hour's cringe worthy attempts to go after him), I can only hope he ignites an explosion of stupidity from somewhere else.

Yep, though with Bush, he's actually been pretty good at giving people legitimate beefs, whether you're an old-school real conservative, or just someone concerned about the state of the union.

Reagan, Clinton, JFK, Eisenhower, etc .. all good presidents, and attempts to talk crap about them just amount to so much hot air for 90% of the allegations.

Bush I, Bush II, LBJ, Nixon .. all shitty presidents, and the wealth of legitimate criticisms of their corrupt activities, divisive blather, rampant cronyism, and counterproductive policy decisions, that 90% of the allegations against them are right on target.

as long as whoever wins ends up with Dick Morris never again appearing on television, I'm all for it
