he's the man behind Pi & Requiem For A Dream, and co-wrote Below, a B horror movie that was a hit among those who saw it.

i saw the poster at work today, and proceeded to see it during the previews for Lady in the Water while roaming around wasting time. It looks amazing, a little more sappy than his previous work but still, it looks like a nice change of pace from sequels and re-do's... seeing an original work is nice, especially one that is promising since Aronofsky is a genius with the art B movies.
anyone else stoked to see this? coming out October 13th.

This was posted a few days ago, but yes, it looks incredible. Aronofsky is my favorite director, and I can't wait for this one.

Wasn't The Fountain a comic book?

From what I remember, Aronofsky was such a fan of the story that he purchased the rights to an illustrated novel from the movie studio since he was convinced that it was going to fizzle (I've been waiting for it to materialize for years now, with various actors attached), and thus there's an illustrated novel.

Love this guy and always wished he'd made more flicks.

Looks cool, but a big departure from his other two that I've seen. Much more big budget.

when brad pitt was attached, the movie was going to have a $75mil budget, but it turned into a $40mil budget. still looks high-budget compared to his last stuff. lol

evilyoda was right, it was written by aronofsky anyhow... but its a different adaptation of his original story since the script has changed with each time it has been near production.
