Basically, in the movie trailer, where the guy says "they're listening right now" is the first time you get to see someone sucked away into the sky, and the entire roof of the house comes off

leading up to it however, you see a guy ran into by a car that doesnt bleed and just basically walks away (showing hes an alien, yet human formed)

And another big tipper was the guy sitting in the chair (prior to getting sucked away) referred to everything as "we do what THEY say", stuff like that

The entire movie is about the SS chasing these 2 people down (one being the female actress that starts it all) and they are trying to catch them because the whole idea is that they are experiments. the experiment was separation from child and their reaction to it. the aliens wanted to find a way to erase all memory about children from a mothers/fathers mind. obviously it didnt work for the select 2 in the movie.

Yes, a hybrid of Dark City and X-Files. I thought it was interesting, if somewhat forgettable...

The movie was pretty good. It was different. The way they laid out the movie was brilliant cause it made you wonder what was going to happen next rather than the old you know whats going to happen next. It has a couple of jump scenes and a couple of real nice special effects. Its worth going to go see.

just watched it. somewhat disappointed, i'm glad i didn't watch trailers though. but when i heard about the whole alien thing i was like dammit, there goes this movie. after that it was just annoying.

The endigng was stupid. I think there was a message, but a stupid one. It was an awesome movie but closure hurt it.

Jsut to be clear. The experiment was to try and break the bond between mother and child. Or father and child. I think both as another "test' was a dad. The alien explains in the movie at the end that humans have a bond with their children that can be measured. The experiment is to break that bond. The lead woman somehow knew her son was alive and the bond was never broken. I think the experiment was due ot the fact that the aliens seem very boring and unemotional. I think this bond doesn't exist in their species. That's what is implied. They want to undertand this bond better.

Awesome movie. See it in the theater but don't see the DVD.

Just got back from seeing this movie with the wife. I agree with you most of the movie was decent but the ending sucked ass.

It was pretty good, we both enjoyed it. Definitely worth seeing, IMO.

I liked it. Definitely made everyone in the theater jump a few times. They did a good job with that.

I was led to believe that it wasn't aliens.

It basically is never explained and left pretty much open ended--left to one's interpretation & imagaination.

My interpretation:
That it was some sort of X-files supernatural creature with powers.

What led me to this line of thinking was when Julianne Moore looks at the clouds and they took a menacing shape as if some force was watching her. Also at the end, the creature's face morphed into a somewhat demonic form when he blew the glass. Also, he was "punished" at the end by being blown through the roof for "failure" of his duties. His abilities to instantly heal, have superhuman strength, teleport at will, scan thoughts, and wipe memories with but a mere thought leads one to believe he's part of some supernatural force. I perosnally thought he was some form of demon.


The open-endedness of this movie is dissapointing. I guess we'll all have to wait for the Director or writer commentaries on the upcoming DVD. The same "who knows?" crap of "Kpax" also is a main reason why these movies get panned and fail to make serious money with a promising story line that isn't fully thought out to be clever..........It did have some good scares, like the police woman being thrown into the sky or the car getting hit on its side.

This is one hell of a dead thread, but I didn't want to repost...

Watched this flick last night. Not bad I guess, I give it a 3/5. The part where their car got smoked by the NSA guys was scary, and the whole face morphing into whatever it was, that kinda freaked me out.
