'The Fog' opens Friday. Whats the buzz?

The Fog

This is a remake of one of my favorite horror movies. Heck, its from John freakin Carpenter, and it was made early in his career, so you know its good. But I'm really afraid of the new movie because as of 10/10/2005 there are no reviews up at RottenTomatoes. Do you know what that says to me? That says there hasn't been an advance press screening because it sucks so bad. I really hope not because it is such a great great great ghost story - leave it to a new director to screw it up.

Has anyone heard anything positive about this flick?

I want to see Dark Star in theaters, re-released One of my fave Carpenter films....

Haven't heard anything about OP film, but glad to know Carpenter is at the helm. Then again, the past few movies he's put out over the last, oh, ten years, suck. 🙁

sure sign it sucks is if there are no reviews.

I'm surprised at how bad Two for the Money apparently is...

Damnit I wanted to see that too.
Anyone know if Lord of War is any good?

I hope they don't mess it up. The original is a classic, easily in the top 10 of my favorite horror movies.

It's not very clear right now. There's a bit of a fog around the accessibility of movie reviews currently, with a slight chance of rain.

The buzz is that Hollywood can't come up with their own ideas and have to go around re-making old stuff that wasn't that good to begin with. :|

The original is one of the best, hands down. This summer me and a couple of buddies went to some horror convention thingy in Chicago, and they had like the whole cast minus Jamie Lee Curtis there (not to mention everyone from the devi's rejects except rob zombie's wife, and bruce campbell, yada yada yada)...

They screened a buncha movies (including the original) on this huge inflatable drive-in thing... was pretty damn cool.

I'm supposed to go to see the new one late tonight with like 10 friends, so hopefully it doesn't suck.

Well, when there are no reviews for the movie on opening day....suckage is pretty much guaranteed.

go see a History of Violence......most disturbing movie ever

A disturbing movie, but having Maria Bello almost naked and in a cheerleader outfit only adds to the movie.

No advance press screening = even the producers know it's complete crap. Period.

Expect this thing to be at 2% or less on RT by Sunday.

Agreed, unfortunately. Maybe I'll just watch the original this weekend.
