Couldn't you just destroy the out of control nano's with an EMP?

Not if the EMP is a nanobot.

EMP stands for Electro-Magnetic Pulse. Pretty sure that isnt a nano bot. Basically we would just have to nuke ourselves until all the nano bots die! (ok, there are better ways then that, but doesn't that sound like fun?)

Assuming the nano's run on electricity. Why rely on electricity when they can just get energy from eating people.

So... we're talking either destroy ourselves along with our technological creations... or be doomed to fight a lifelong war with our own creations... aka the Cylons? Oh great, humanity... pick the first one, pick the first one! They'll look like humans eventually, and rape our women!

Best web site on the web.

S. Peter Davis is a genius.

"As you've probably worked out by now, there's some weird shit out there in the world of science. That's because a whole lot of the fundamental theories about reality are based on mathematical equations rather than actual observation. So there are all sorts of things out there that seem to exist in theory, but we've never seen them. At least one scientist has suggested that if we ever saw them with our own eyes, it's likely that we would start screaming and never stop. Well, it wasn't so much a scientists as HP Lovecraft."

LAWL!

That is a great quote.

What do you do at LHC? I was an accelerator operator and sysadmin at CEBAF from 2001 to 2005.

I am a code monkey for the event filter. I also run the data acquisition desk sometimes. When I leave Switzerland next month, I'll just be a code monkey again 😛
