FBI`s Infragard.

As with so many government programs that start out noble and end up abusing power and not fulfilling their original charter (NSA for instance), I think this is pretty scary.

Anything in the name of fighting terror.

It's disingenuous to attach this on the war on terror, seeing how this agency was set up in 1996. Although it specifically says it is designed to gather and share information about global threats, it certainly doesnt fall into GWB's plan. So throw your GWB conspiracies out the window if you have em (Im sure some will).

Also, from the site itself, "At its most basic level, InfraGard is a partnership between the FBI and the private sector. InfraGard is an association of businesses, academic institutions, state and local law enforcement agencies, and other participants dedicated to sharing information and intelligence to prevent hostile acts against the United States."

Looks like a liaison of sorts, which isnt necessarily a bad thing.
