Actually, I already knew it was Tesla. I was doing some more research on him for an unrelated project and began to wonder how many people actually knew, so I thought I would ask. As for your misguided beliefs behind my reason for posting this, you can STFU n00b.

No, you said I posted it to go against the popular, though incorrect belief. I posted it because I wanted to find out what people currently believed. If they want to see the truth, they can scroll down, if not, that's fine too. Such was not the initial purpose of this thread.

He invented all the technology that Marconi used.

It's sad that nothing is ever taught about Tesla in school, at least in my experience. I was lucky enough to have a friend that was really into electricity and that's how I became familiar with Tesla.

Marconi did all the cool stuff, though. He was the first to prove transatlantic long wave radio was possible. In Arthur C. Clark's "How the Earth Was ONE" there is a section on radio, with Marconi playing a big role. "Father" is an ambiguous word. One could argue Marconi because he spent all his energy on popularizing the technology, which is why he factors so large in popular history.
