Yay, dont get to say this very often, if at all. E-penis stuff blah blah. I can finally say i have the fastest of something.....Powercolour X1950 AGP 512. Now to enjoy 4 x WSVGA goodness!

I wouldn't get to upset about it...Unless you have a decent CPU to make use of all that grunt, the XT is barely faster than the Pro.
 
What about Gainward's 7800GS "BLISS"? Faster than both of the above I believe.... Not that it's available any longer, but still.

No...the Gainward cards sre slower than both the X1950Pro and the XT.

the 7800GS+ SILENT is a downclocked 7900GT (450/1250), the 7800GS+ GLH is an overclocked 7900GS (500/1400), the original 7800GS+ was a 7800GT.

All three are left behind by the X1950Pro and X1950XT AGP cards...not to mention the cost close to twice as much as the most expensive X1950Pro (at least in Australia anyway where the SILENT and GLH are still availible in limited numbers)

Before I purchased my Sapphire, I had the oppotunity to test the SILENT (7900GT) along side the then new Sapphire X1950Pro 512mb...the SILENT wasn't much faster (less than 10%)than my BFG 7800GS OC@550/1350, the X1950Pro easily provided 25% extra performance in most games...and then some.

Hence I bought the Sapphire and saved almost AU$200.

the only downside to the X1950 series cards is the hefty PSU requirements....the Gainward cards are able to run on the same PSU's that work with regular 7800GS's.

what specs? cpu limitations would cause results like that, but the x1950xt is clearly faster.

which BLISS was it that you tested? there a 3 models of the 7800GS+ series that use different GPU's...the GS+ SILENT is the fastest of the 3 but it still falls short by at least 10% in some benchmarks and others it loses by as much as 25%...althought they do overclock pretty good and can get close to the 7950GT performance levels.

But at stock performance it is slower than a regular 7900GT PCI-E...
 
i have the 3rd fastest nvidia card....8800GTS 320MB. if we're strictly talking about 6-7-8 series performance.

i was gonna correct you and say that the X1950XT is the fastest agp card...sorry dude, lol.

It's a while back now, so my memory may not be perfect here. However, I'm 99% sure it was: 3GHz Northwood @3.6GHz, 2x1GB DDR800, 15k rpm SCSI drives on P4P800 motherboards.

It was indeed a GS+ Silent. Both cards were overclocked, but the details of the clockings have long gone from memory I'm afraid.

are you sure it was a X1950XT that was tested?

They have only been availible for the past month, but it wouldn't matter much, both cards would have been bottlenecked by the P4@3.6ghz so it would have been difficult to get an accurate result from them...

But for the record, even a X1950Pro leaves the GS+ Silent for dead....even a stock 7900GT can't beat a X1950pro...an underclocked 7900GT like the GS+ Silent just falls even further behind...
 
The 7950GT is faster than a 7900GS, and in non heavy pixel shader games outperforms slighly the X1950PRO, but in heavy pixel shader games the X1950PRO is faster by a healthy margin. The GeCube Radeon X1950XT is overclocked at XTX speeds at default, even though it's memory speed is 600MHz slower than XTX default, pretty sure is the fastest AGP card on the market.
