Um, F-22 is the ultimate air superiority fighter. They conceded to that when designing the F35. The only reason why the Air Force is using the F35 is because the F22 is too expensive to have a large fleet. This is directly from the NOVA special on the X-planes competition between the X-32 and X-35.
