I must say I am disappointed with PointClick...I wish I knew they were in trouble before I bought my plex cdrw and piii700 from onvia...might have thought twice...my check is only for $49.70 but still this is a bummer...
I have emailed them 4-5 times not even a generic response...I have heard nothing....
Personally I agree the vendors that are working with them need to know they are not fulfilling there obligation and I believe it should be clearly posted in the the HotDeals forum to avoid them like the plague.

this is my 2 cents...this is the first rebate/cashback from a vendor that fell through for me and it is disheartening!

Pointclick owes me a little over $200 and I haven't heard anything from them. No check, no email, nothing. :|

I believe I will get paid. I am expecting a check for well over $500. I think they may be having some difficulties from all of the people that only purchased to get the 10% rebate. I have used pointclick from day one and have only submitted reimbursement request for products that I have purchased with money I earned by using the PC website. I realize that this is well within the program and is a valid claim, I just wish they would pay the loyal users first.

Just my opinion.

I would like to make sure I understand the way it works! This is the way I thought it was:
1.Purchase something from one the vendors on there site
2.Spend at least $25.00 thru them
3.Send in for rebate
Now it seems that that you have to have at least $25.00 in your account when you get your rebate? Is the way it is?

You total request must be over $25 to get a check. If you were going with the 10% rebate then your purchase would have had to be over $250 to earn the $25 rebate. I on the other hand had over $500 in earned credit and made purchases and placed the reimbursement request and will get the total amount spent in a check, when they pay us. I have sent an e-mail and did get the standard email, that others have listed.

I've got a bad feeling about this...

I hope pointclick doesn't go under. They owe me about 45 $US in rebates off of stuff I bought from Onvia. The check should have gone out in August if their site policy is correct. :(

Bob61,
I don't think VA own anyone money at least not to us since VA$ is still theirs to keep. Pointclick......you need to find some hard copy to tell people then may be to file a law suit against them, so that we may all get together to take some action. My personal view is that I don't want to see any company goes down especially those owm my money and those benefit us.

The thing that pisses me off is that according to my Point Click account status I was "Paid" on 8/17/00. I did not receive a penny.

I emailed them and they replied with the same kind of crap that they are having problems and that my check will follow shortly. Well, it's been close to 2 months now and I haven't seen a penny. I'm owed $300.05. A lot of money to lose if they go under.

My account was marked "paid" in the middle of August, just like everybody else's. This was my July check, since I didn't submit anything more in August. I nearly fainted when I got it today. So keep your eyes on your mailboxes!

Have faith people. I've been with this since January. I have a lot more "at stake" than most of you from what I have read. I have $928.54 in pending checks from mine and my wife's accounts as can be seen below.

8/16/00 Purchase approved $267.59 $26.76 + $240.83 = $267.59
8/31/00 Purchase approved $148.34 $14.83 + $123.53 = $138.36

8/24/00 Purchase approved $166.22 $16.62 + $149.60 = $166.22
8/31/00 Purchase approved $649.99 $65.00 + $291.37 = $356.37

So given my vested interest in this matter, here's my opinions. I agree, pressuring other companies (PC merchants) will only hurt. As bad as this sounds, keep visiting pointclick's site. Help them generate revenue and we'll get paid. Do this instead of complaining and b!tching. Even if you click 3-4 times a day just to browse stores and prices. Takes a few minutes out of your day. In fact, I bet you could click 3-4 sites faster than b!tching in a thread here :)

But across the board, if all members clicked a few times a day, I'd imagine it would help tremendously. But, like the idea, "if every american gave $1 per year to help fight hunger, there would be no hunger problem." I doubt many members still even visit pointclick's site anymore.

After our recent purchases, our PC accounts are cleaned out. So I will only use them for the 5% discounts after that. (But I won't be relying on them :) ) Until we get our checks, we will continue to visit Pointclick's site, and click a few times every day to do what we can to help them get some more revenue. Hopefully you will too.

Don't take this the wrong way, just trying to suggest ways to work with pointclick and put all of our anger to work. If and when you do click on sites through pointclick's network, say a few choice words, and click the mouse button real hard. Do this 3-4 times a day, and you'll feel much better! And then in a few weeks, hopefully we'll see some checks that will make us feel REALLY good. :) Let's get through this!

My 2 cents

Well I'm waiting on about $50 myself but gotta ask ya FastEddieG how did you rack up over $900 in approved reimbursements on a little over $1200 in purchases?? Is the rest simply from clicking on $.05 links?

Great Idea! Everyone go over there and click on every single banner you can. Let's give them some traffic to help their bottom line. The more traffic they have, the easier it is to keep people in their network. And I'm sure they get paid for all those special banners around the site. Click-A-Thon!

Well, remember I started in January ($70/day max) and we clicked a little each day. It was $.20 a click back then if I remember correctly. Plus, I setup a referral link on my website and got a bunch of $3 referral credits.

Soooo, with the 10% ending and hearing problems with their finacnes, I decided it was time to spend the last of our PC money, so we bought a scanner, camcorder, a cat5 cable tester, and some ink and laser cartridges.

Well SoCool and everyone else, I hope all of us get paid soon :)

Well that was way before my time - Just got involved with PC in July. I can live without my $50 but almost a $1000 - now THAT'S another story! I spoke to the head of CS earlier this month and he seemed to think they will get back on track so good luck to all. Thanx for your info.

Just received the following email from PointClick.

<< Many of you have inquired regarding the status of reimbursement requests for the July pay period. We are happy to be able to give you a definitive answer. All checks from July will be in the mail on September 13, 2000. Please allow 5 to 10 business days for delivery.

PointClick deeply regrets the delay in sending this payment to you. We realize this is an inconvenience and a disappointment. It is never our desire to delay payment to any of our loyal members. We have just recently received additional funding which has enabled us to send this payment to you. PointClick is still very much in a "startup" scenario, but we feel extremely optimistic about closing our second round of funding within the next few months. We have some very exciting new things happening that will be launched fairly soon.

Once again, we apologize for the delay. We intend for all our members to receive exactly what they have been promised. Most of you have been patient and understanding and we appreciate it.

To check the mailing address that your check is being mailed to, go to the Member Area ("modify account" link) in the PointClick Web site (click on the link below?you will have to login before you get to the page with your information).

The way I read it is that the "additional funding" should be good for at least 2-3 months.

This is the email that I got Monday (9/11) after I received my check on Saturday (9/9):

Dear Lori,

PointClick would like to apologize for the inconvenience you have
experienced due to the delay of your reimbursement check. It is not our
intent to delay payment to any of our loyal members. In this case, we
printed the checks several weeks ago, but could not mail them until we
completed a round of financing. (This explains why the system showed
you
had been paid. It is updated as soon as the check is printed.) We have
now received the money we were expecting, and we sent your check
on September 6, 2000. Please allow 3-5 business days for arrival.
Once again, we apologize for the delay. We intend for all our members
to
receive exactly what they have been promised.
Thank you for your time, effort, and patience.

Sincerely,

PointClick

I wonder if I got mine earlier because I wrote and asked about it a couple of weeks ago? <shrug>

Just so you all know, I saw that Onvia is now only 5% instead of the 10% it was. Although they did add buy.com at 5%.
