I don't think there is another revision than the 1.0 but the BR27 trick is real.
The guy tests a board without it and he has a lot of instability with memory (random crash, freeze...)
Then he emails epox europe about this issues and they give him a board with a resistance br27 on it and a better cooling solution on the chipset. I think it is already avaible in US since a long time ( Europe is always laaaaaaaaate 🙁 )
I will ask him whats the revision of his board !

Did you get a USB to PS/2 converter? I bought an OEM version of the MS Natural Pro KB and it came with one...Originally posted by: wizz0bang
Darn... I _really_ like keyboard power on. I set the power on password to "on" I just walk up and type "on" and voila! I don't have to open the door to my aluminum 1040 case! May have to go back to my Ps/2 rig 🙁
P.S. I don't have any reboot issues and the USB KB works fine under XP... I just can't power on from it. Oh well...

Has anyone OC'ed while using the built in 845G graphics controller? I just purchased a 1.8A along with the 4g4a+ , and 3dMark2001 will hang at anything above 2.1GHz ( 118 FSB x 18). I know it's a video problem, because if I throw in my old ATI Rage Fury Pro, the tests will complete without problem. Are people out there running with a higher FSB using the built in video controller?
Another issue, I can only get the CPU up to 2.25 GHz (125 FSB x 18) stable with Prime95 using 1.6 Vcore ,locking AGP/PCI, setting memory 1:1, Enermax case with 300W Enermax PS (might be their cheapie model) and using retail HSF. Bumping up to 130 FSB and 1.725 Vcore starts to cause errors in Prime95. I didn't want to push the Vcore higher due to the overvolting reports. So my question is, did I get a bum processor? Is this a bad 4g4a? I'm really jealous of the folks here who can get up 160FSB using this same combo.

What is the pack date of your 1.8A? The newer ones tend to overclock better.

Okay here's how my setup is going:
Retail 1.6a with AS3
512 Corsair XMS PC2700 in DIMM slot 2
Gainward Geforce4 Ti4200 64mb
Enermax 430W PS
2 WD Special Edition HD's in Raid 0
My 4g4a+ is revision 1.0, bios is 4/24, i removed the CPU Select Jumper (JP1)
1.6a from Costa Rica... don't remember exact packdate but it was July 2002
currently FSB is stable at 146 (Prime95 ran for 8+ hours) at default voltage... i tried going up to 150 FSB, booted to windows and everything seemed normal but Prime95 threw an error after a couple minutes... testing 148 FSB right now, seems fine but its only been an hour
the FSB is the only settings i have changed in Frequency/Voltage Control section of the BIOS... Should I change Memory Frequency and AGP/PCI Clock? Also when and do I need to change AGP and VDIMM voltage? thanks
