The real mastermind in the White House for the last eight years finally stepped up to the plate and declared his unconditional support for McBush/Palin 2008.

Didn't he get the memo? Bush and Cheney were supposed to be in witness protection until the election was over if McCain wanted a *real* shot at winning.

Maybe Dick took offense to McCain's recent Bush-bashing interviews and decided to piss on his sinking ship?

Text

Barack Obama ripped into John McCain for the Dick Cheney endorsement today, saying that he ?really earned it.?

?That endorsement didn?t come easy. Senator McCain had to vote with George Bush 90 percent of the time and agree with Dick Cheney to get it,? Obama told the crowd of thousands who lined the downtown streets.

?George Bush may be in an undisclosed location now, but Dick Cheney?s out there on the campaign trail because he?d be delighted to pass the baton to John McCain,? Obama added.

?He knows that with John McCain you get a twofer: George Bush?s economic policy and Dick Cheney?s foreign policy ? and that is a risk that the American people cannot afford to take.?

After the event, McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds responded to Obama?s criticism by linking him to Cheney.

?Barack Obama and Dick Cheney aren't just cousins, they?ve shared support for the Bush energy policy and the out-of-control spending that John McCain has fought to oppose,? Bounds said in a statement.

Obama's wife Michelle and their daughters, Malia and Sasha, were also at the event today. The family was reunited on the airport tarmac when Obama flew in from Las Vegas.

At the rally, Michelle Obama called on the crowd to help elect her husband. ?I told him that you have gotten us 85% of the way there, but the other 15% it?s on us. It?s on all of us. If we want Barack Obama in the White House, then we have to vote for him,? she said.

After the event, the Obamas stopped by Jorge?s Sombrero Mexican restaurant for dinner on their way to the airport. They are all headed to Springfield, Missouri for the last event of the day.

LOL, but seriously. Palin wouldn't think twice about shooting McCain in the back of the head if McCain wins this election.

Having Dick Cheney in your campaign ads must be the rage nowadays...

Cheney stars in new Obama campaign ad

Springfield, Mo. - Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama highlights Vice President Dick Cheney's support for Republican nominee John McCain in a new ad out Sunday.

The ad opens by touting Obama's recent endorsements from investor Warren Buffett and former Secretary of State Colin Powell, then cuts to video of Cheney from an event Saturday in Wyoming.

"I'm delighted to support John McCain," Cheney says. "I'm pleased that he's chosen a running mate with executive talent, toughness and common sense, our next vice president Sarah Palin."

An announcer says McCain earned Cheney's support by voting with the White House 90 percent of the time. "That's not the change we need," he says.

The praise from Cheney, who routinely has some of the lowest approval ratings of any national political figure, came as Obama argues that McCain is too closely tied to the policies of the Bush administration.

Obama's campaign said the 30-second spot would run nationally on cable channels.

McCain's campaign responded by noting the issues on which McCain disagreed with the administration.

"It was John McCain who fought Vice President Cheney on Big Oil's energy bill, the administration's wasteful spending and argued for a different, successful course in Iraq, not Barack Obama," said McCain campaign spokesman Tucker Bounds.

I'm still waiting to see the contents of those energy meetings that occurred before 9/11. I wonder if george, jr. will pull the same trick with this as he did with his dad's stuff right after he was inaugurated.

She already blew a hole in his credibility. Second thought, McCain did that to himself when he picked her as his running mate.

McCains last words: "Hey, is that Palin up there in that helicopter?"

Cheney knows his endorsement is bad news for anyone. One has to wonder why such a political savvy guy would do something that would proactively hurt someone he wanted to win...

Because his beliefs are incredibly stable and unchanging. Hence, he will tell you exactly what he thinks and doesn't give a fuck what anyone thinks.

Yes, he may be wrong, but he'll never admit it.

Perhaps you guys are right. otoh he now has a potential second puppet for 2012 now as dumb as the first, also sympathetic to big oil, and also will follow orders blindly (and this time not from Texas).

A Cheney endorsement at this point is like getting bitten by a King Cobra x 100 for McCain's campaign. In other words, the kiss of death. Unless the GOP finds a way to steal this election, might as well get used to a pres. Obama. ;)

With only two days left before the election I don't think it will make that much of a difference. Probably the reason why Cheney did it this late.

Could it be...let's think outside the box...that Bush isn't done fucking things up yet, and the Republicans don't actually WANT to win this one?

If things are FUBAR'd badly enough, the Dems won't be able to fix things without massive tax increases...which would make the next election almost a guarantee for the Republicans...

(Get out your tin-foil hats boys...it's conspiracy time!)
