Try telling him that.

Obama is front and center every single day, talking about policies, appointments, agendas, etc. That's going to generate discussion. Deal with it.

GWB is to blame for that, not Obama.

I hope everything they fear most comes true and they get out of here as quickly as possible.

We couldn't get your ass out the past 8 years, why should he be leaving now?

Seriously, what turned you into this bitter old grouch?

I would bet good money that its 8 years of piss poor descision making by the George Bush administration - turning our once great economy with into a joke. That, and what he has done to our international standing.

You mean, he is acting like a president and preparing to DO something about the mess we are in.

This is in contrast to our current president who got us into this mess, and does nothing effective to get us out. HE is clearly just riding out the economy until his term ends... Let the next guy deal with it.

GO OBAMA!!!

I think you have him confused with Jimmy Carter.

for fucks sake, we are CURRENTLY in the worst economic situation since The Great Depression. GWB has been the POTUS for the past 8 years leading up to this nightmare. wake the fuck up and get off placing the blame elsewhere.

Uh huh. You remember when Q3 2000 economic numbers were revised downward about a year later, after the fact, so Clinton could run back to New York while making bogus economic claims?

Who ran out the door on a recession, again?

Interesting. You guys were just hell bent on destroying the country through greed.

No mention of getting rid of the peons until now.

At least you've come clean now.

Now we will do all we can to save the country and make it as uncomfortable as possible for your kind that you will want to leave.

After going through winnar's numerous and often inane posts, I'm inclined to agree.

I think you have him confused with Jimmy Carter.

Do you have ANY purpose here other than to just blindly bash the left and build up the right? Are you even capable of free thinking? Because it seems you just follow right wing talking points. Anyhow, what I like about Obama in this, is that he is taking ownership of the economy - rather than putzing around with it like Bush does. He is taking steps, while Bush twiddles his thumbs.

I mean this guy... http://clinton5.nara.gov/WH/Ac...nts/eightyears-03.html he has a lot of higher praise from people a BIT more educated on economics than the right wing bloggers you get your news from.

Clinton-Gore Economic Policy Has Dramatically Improved the Economy

"My colleagues and I have been very appreciative of your [President Clinton?s] support of the Fed over the years, and your commitment to fiscal discipline has been instrumental in achieving what in a few weeks will be the longest economic expansion in the nation?s history."
? Alan Greenspan, Federal Reserve Board Chairman, January 4, 2000, with President Clinton at Chairman Greenspan?s re-nomination announcement

"The deficit has come down, and I give the Clinton Administration and President Clinton himself a lot of credit for that. [He] did something about it, fast. And I think we are seeing some benefits."
? Paul Volcker, Federal Reserve Board Chairman (1979-1987), in Audacity, Fall 1994

One of the reasons Goldman Sachs cites for the "best economy ever" is that "on the policy side, trade, fiscal, and monetary policies have been excellent, working in ways that have facilitated growth without inflation. The Clinton Administration has worked to liberalize trade and has used any revenue windfalls to reduce the federal budget deficit."
? Goldman Sachs, March 1998

"Clinton?s 1993 budget cuts, which reduced projected red ink by more than $400 billion over five years, sparked a major drop in interest rates that helped boost investment in all the equipment and systems that brought forth the New Age economy of technological innovation and rising productivity."
? Business Week, May 19, 1997

Nothing is for free and all of the programs he will initiate will be paid for by the already struggling working class people. When you finally stop living in your parents basement and have to go out and work for yourself and start paying for all of this stuff then I'm sure that you'll start singing a different tune but it will be too late.

I'd like to keep the few dollars that I've worked for and you can keep your change.

There's few basements in Florida. They'd generally flood.

You guys are so freaking knee-jerk quick to defend Obama. Where the hell did I insult the man?

Christ people, cool down. Obama is getting some press at any given moment. I'm not criticizing him for it; just criticizing any tool who takes issue with people talking about it. Like I said, the man's lips are moving 24/7. He is GOING TO GENERATE DISCUSSION. DEAL WITH IT.

Talk about the need to cool down... I didnt take your post as a criticism, or an insult to Obama (or anyone else for that matter) nor did I say anything at all about you in my post... I just added my thoughts.

20 years from now, people will fondly remember these last 25 years when their labor and efforts were actually rewarded. Hopefully we can see this age again someday.

The Weekly Standard is *crap*. It's a contra-indicator of reasonable opinion.

The last 25 years have been a *disaster* for the nation.

1. The unprecedented run-up in peacetime debt has provided some illusion to hide its huge damage, but huge damage it is, with effects to come for decades to come.

2. The concentration of wealth has skyrocketed, to levels not seen since just before the great depression. That's a terrible thing, despite childish right-wing views to the contrary.

The only thing that's made it feel tolerable is the advance of technology making many things cheaper, and the availability of cheap items from oversease on borrowed money.

The liberals build the middle class out of the poor working masses, and the Republicans have gone a long way to undo the middle classes' gains.
If you tax people enough they will move. Taxing the upper class out of existence is a solid way to put more of the burden on the classes that can't afford it.

Yes but this isn't the case here.. Their tax burden is reverting to what it was during the Clinton Administration when they along with the rest of America prospered.

And, I might add, what a low-blow to even bring it up. (Not you Robor). ;)
