The Elder Scrolls: Daggerfall available as a free download from Bethesda

I wish it ran in windows. I had this when it first came out, still have the book for it. But the engine and graphics are giving me some pause over trying it again. As well as the Dosbox instructions.
 
What a F'in huge and awesome game! The world map on ES😀 is probably the largest in the history of CRPGS.

Edit.. LOL per Wikipedia - Daggerfall 750,000 NPCS, Morrowind and Oblivion ~1000 each.

Granted Daggerfall can be a little more repetitive, I think it's worth it to have such a large game world. I'm tired of game worlds I can run across in like 2 hours. That makes each game world like 14 miles across, not very epic...

Guess I shouldn't have thrown out my old 486 Compaq. 🙂
 
This is beyond cool. I've been wanting to play Daggerfall forever.

Old school graphics don't bother me.
 
Great, great game, even with the bugs. I can still remember walking into the first major city and being amazed at all the people walking about, minding their own business.
 
Heh, I played this through twice back in the day, and yeah it was buggy as hell. My favorites were when you'd be walking along and suddenly an NPC would be added to your party, announce the reasons for their departure, and then disappear. I also remember the assassins that would attack in the cities. After I got flight I used to soar in and land on the rooftops, then dump that comet spell on them all.
 
Four hours to download at single-digit KbPS. Anyone else getting better?
 
Ok, I have tried dowloading this game 4 times now, and each time it only downloads a portion of the game before it stops. I may be drunk because it is my birthday and I went out and celebrated it, but I can't figure out a way to start a download of this and have it actually finish. Is there any way you can susgest for me?

Awesome, thanks. I don't have a Fileshack account, and didn't feel like creating one, so I chose a free download capped at 500 KbPS and I got the file at 1.5 MbPS 🙂.
