India took in the dalai lama when no other western country would despite intense pressure from china...india is also a very tolerant place to conduct worship...infact there are many similarities between india now and a young america.

thats true...it is odd that although we preach such high tolerance and diversity, in any high level of govt, its all very homogeneous.

Yup. If you think we have tolerance and diversity, just try opening a Pagan children's center somewhere and see how far you get before you have townsfolk with torches and pitchforks running after you.

I'm trying to find the answer to that as well. Cause if it all belongs to "the lord" then he/she/it can pay my property taxes in December.

exactly...rite now we are in a better position that most, but that doesnt mean we have a really long way to go before we actually say that there is complete tolerance here.
