The Earth is Flat...

Ok so the Moon Landing was faked and NASA is a huge conspiracy. How do they explain the hundreds of satellites that "float" above the flat disc of Earth? I bet one or two of these people have or have used a Sirius/GPS/Dish network/other satellite communication link. These laughable theories about a flat earth intrigue me, and I shall wiki their ideas.

God put them there to test your faith. God can do miracles you know.

They are suspended from the backdrop which has little holes in it to represent the stars.

And just stop. You're confusing things...

With a flat earth, I've always wondered how it's explained that the oceans haven't drained away.

that one guy in the article is a computer scientist from Tennessee.

I'm not surprised.

"says John Davis, a flat earth theorist based in Tennessee"
"Mr Davis, a 25-year-old computer scientist originally from Canada"

Didn't read the whole article there Buckwheat... or were you deliberately trying to misrepresent something?

This is no worse than believing in Intelligent Design.

People are retarted.
We can easily proove the earth is round by flying around it. Nobody can even come within the ballpark of proving that life was randomly begun along the lines of any currently-held theories about it. They certainly cannot reproduce it or anything close to it, so who's really retarded?

Just think how stupid the average guy is... Now think, half of everyone is even stupider than that guy - George Carlin (RIP).

they are all wrong!!!! the earth is one big ball of strings!!!

Superstring theory is an attempt to explain all of the particles and fundamental forces of nature in one theory by modelling them as vibrations of tiny supersymmetric strings. It is considered one of the most promising candidate theories of quantum gravity.

Better question is how they explain gravity, which I believe they accomplish by saying earth is constantly accelerating upwards at a rate of 9.8 m/s, but that presents the inconvenient problem that we would have accelerated beyond the speed of light.

Why can't I see my house from Mount Everest?

Fog and distance. If you were able to see it clearly, it would be too much for your brain to render and your head would asplode.

The exact explanation for lunar eclipses in the Flat Earth theory is vague. However, two commonly accepted hypotheses are the Shadow Object Theory (that an object undiscovered and undetectable by science obscures the moon causing moon phases and lunar eclipses) and the Reflection hypothesis (the sun's light reflects off the Earth and reflects back to the moon, with some areas of the Earth being less reflective than others, thus producing shadows). There is also a minority which believes moon phases are caused by weather patterns on the moon.

wat?
