The Eagles

I saw this documentary on Netflix, and noted that it was over three hours. My first thought was "How could you get a three hour documentary out of the Eagles?" After watching it I can say they absolutely filled three hours. It felt more like an hour and a half. The personalities involved are fascinating, and the inside story of what was going on through the ten years of their heyday makes for great watching, especially if you were around for it. Not to mention the music is awesome... and Joe Walsh is still a crazy man.

The Eagles were an amazing band. I even think they were better than Led Zeppelin. Members from The Eagles have found much greater success for sure.

I have to say that the Eagles concert I saw was one of the worst concerts I have ever seen. Beautiful summer evening in a venue outside Boston and they played maybe 35 minutes. Just getting warmed up and they said "thanks folks, catch you again next time" and split. I think that was before Joe Walsh joined the band.

Joe Walsh (and Barnstorm) OTOH was a truly great show.

Lebowski was right.

Repost 😛

I tried to bring attention to this while it was on cable, a very good documentary indeed. Always liked the Eagles' songs and especially Henley's solo stuff but now I have an appreciation for them as well.

I get the sense that a lot of people hate on the Eagles for no other reason than Jeff Lebowski did.

The Eagles were the first band I really got into when I started to play guitar since you can really easily just strum and sing most of their songs on an acoustic.

Come to find out, there was really a lot of musical talent in that group all around.

I pumped Don Henley's gas once in Malibu, too.

I sometimes have to LOL at Joe Walsh now that he is old saying; yeah, I was paid a ridiculous amount of money, traveled the world many times over, with the best of accommodations, dozens of beautiful young girls waiting for him at each stop. Nothing but the best of drugs, and alcohol, had the ability to buy off the law, but now he says, kids, this is no way to live your life.
