The dumbest thing you've done building a pc

plugged in my first ever sound card (that was like ... about 9 years ago) into the mobo sooo hard that i burned my mobo. :p

Maybe I'll learn something here, I am already the tech support for my parents and grand parents, now my aunt and uncle want me to build them one....tryingg....toooo....sayy...no....AHHHHH


I do the upside down floppy cable thing so often it's the first thing I check now:eek:

yep building computers for friends/families suck
they expect so much out of you for free. And they assume you have all the free time in the world.

once ive installed a mobo (asus a7v) without standoffs... :eek:
took me an hour to find out why it didnt power on (checked PS, cpu, mobo...) ...

WHERE TO BEGIN????
A friend of mine, tried to shove a scsi removable drive in the socket but it wouldn't quite fit. So he kept shoving and shoving until he got it in. When he tried to power up the pc, the pc wouldn't boot. He removed the cover on the pc and found out why it wouldn't fit. The little round circuits that stick up on the bm were all CRUSHED. HE DESTROYED A dual PC / onboard wide scsi ASUS MB!!!

I dont think I've ever done anything really stupid


maybe plugging in the floppy cable upside down...but thats not really stupid...so I dunno. heh
