The drug talk with your parents...

Im not talking the talk when you are 10 that says "drugs are BADDDD" more the, you have been in college, done drugs, and had a conversation about the use with your parents...

how did it go?

mine was "you shouldn't be high around your parents when you meet up with them, but there is nothing bad about smoking marijuana"

from my mother...

what about yours?
 
It went ok. I pointed out the dangers to them of using drugs. I also warned them that I wouldn't stand for people as old as my parents acting goofy all the time.
 
When I had a tooth ache, i was loading up on vicodin + ibropufen.

Being 24 yrs old at that time, My mom told me:

"you betta be careful otherwise you be addicted"
 
I actually had the college age drug talk when I was 10. My parents were more paranoid about safe sex then drugs.
 
I've never seen it go great.

Boomers are too brainwashed into thinking drugs are bad. They'll never understand that there's nothing wrong with recreational drug use.
 
Never had one. Never will get one. My parents are not concerned because they know I am always going to be shooting up heroin and drinking my life away. 🙂

Sonny you know better than that! Heroin AND alcohol? No!! Bad!! One or the other - pick one.
 
Never had one. Never had a sex talk either. Or really any talk other than "These grades won't fly in the real world, you have to study more or you'll end up like Uncle Failure, etc etc etc".

the only sex talk i ever got was when i was like 12... and my dad said "stay above the waist"...
 
the first time that happened for me, yes--after college--I was out clamming and fishing with my pops, went back for a house party with a bunch of salty fishermen.

We were sitting out on the back porch, drinking beers, some dude hands my dad a joint, dad looks over and says "hey, you ever smoked one of these?"

I'm like "WTF, man? did you buy that shit from a bum? it smells like ass!"

😀

but seeing as i knew my employment would rely on keeping clean.... drugs are bad if i want to have some sort of livelihood.
 
The closest thing I've had to this is my brother coming high and a little tipsy and having a discussion with my mom about the legalization of marijuana. And then he said something like "don't act like you never tried it," she didn't deny it and it was over. Kind of boring.

I could probably count the number of times I've smoked on my hands, but my parents think I'm pretty innocent.
 
Whats up with these anti drug/sex talks...
Mine was don't get her pregnant, and don't get caught for the other. 😛
