The Donnas are such crap.

How can people listen to these tramps? Is it because it's novel to have a group consisting of only women, since so few do? Their music is simply bad. Every song sounds exactly like the last. You've got some skillless hack on the drums pounding out a very simple, fast rhythm. Then on guitar somebody who's went through two lessons with a guitar teacher and learned how to make a couple of notes. Lyrically you've got a girl who just screams into the microphone.

A guy at work gave me their "spend the night" album and it's really such garbage. Then they now have a new song and it sounds like any song on that spend the night album. Who considers this good music? This is on par with a few kids who got together in their garage and banged out what they thought rock and roll was.

I dunno, I like em. Not the greatest band ever, but certainly not the worst. And remember, AC/DC's songs all sound the same too.

I guess I could make another thread, but AC/DC is garbage too, with about 1-2 good songs. Thunderstruck is awesome, and that's about all they ever needed to write.

Holy crap. I've never read that but he seems to have the same approach I took to the donnas!
🙂

My favorite part:

It appears, that AC/DC only ever recorded one drum track. Apparently, at their first rehearsal, the drummer, fresh out of his first ever drum lesson, was recorded playing the most rudimentary drum beat possible. You know the one, bass, snare, bass, snare. As generically 4/4 as one could possibly get. Then, over the years, the band simply took the track and speeded it up or slowed it down to fit the tempo of the rest of the song. I'm convinced that the drumtrack for "Stiff Upper Lip", released in 2000, was recorded in 1973.

AC/DC = sex, drugs, and the debbil

I agree they've sucked since brian johnson's voice disintegrated to a low, incoherent gurgle, but back in the Bon Scott and Back In Black days, they were every teenage boy's id translated to rock 'n' roll perfection.

Any guy who says they suck can now without hesitation know that he is old and officially "over the hill." Break out the Geritol and Depends! 😛

I dissagree, most of their songs since 1980 are pretty boring. Their sound since then is generic, but back in the Bon Scott days they were raw. Squeeler, Sin City, Whole Lotta Rosie, Jailbreak, Nightcrawler, are just to name a few are great songs. I agree that Thunderstuck is ok, so is Get Ready, and Who made Who was pretty good as well.

All that AC/DC Conspiracy seemed to be, was a weak rip off of Maddox's Best Page in the Universe. I'm not a great fan of it, but at least he makes an attempt at bringing up more than one valid point to explain why something sucks. Watch, I'll do it: "I think Pink Floyd sucks because all their music sounds the same." NO THEY DON'T.

No, Floyd doesn't, but ac/dc may. I've had the luxury of almost no exposure to them.
