The diference between a good company and a bad company...

Good company: Nintendo

Provided free plastic covers and designed and gave out stronger wrist straps to everyone for free because people weren't using the Wii remote "properly".

Bad company: Apple

Customers hold phone in a normal, legitimate way, but due to a flaw in the manufacturing, Apple tells people they're doing something wrong and then sends out a memo to make sure that NOBODY under any circumstance is to receive the solution and fix (a 10 cent plastic cover) for free.

Japanese companies generally hold themselves more accountable than American companies do. Accepting responsiblity for failure is part of their culture, passing them on is ours. 😉

iPhone 4 has been out for one week. It took Nintendo a while to start offering the thicker wrist straps and condoms for their wii remotes. Apple hasn't even had time to figure out the extent of the antenna issue yet (from threads on the topic it doesn't sound like most people here who own iPhone 4s are having issues).

How about you give them a little time before you jump to a conclusion?

Too bad Toyota didn't get that memo before they killed people.

Saying Apple is bad because they didn't do the same thing as Nintendo did is retarded... the iphone 4 has been out for a week and it took nintendo quite a while to do anything about their problem.

Wii was released on November 19, 2006... On August 3, 2007, a new wrist strap was discovered to be in circulation. October 1, 2007 was when they announced the free jackets. By the time you give Apple the same time, a new fucking phone will nearly be out.

Why is Apple bad for not doing something within a week when Nintendo took nearly a year to give out free jackets. Double standards aren't exactly fair.

Don't be the blind Anti-Apple asshole

It's explained pretty thoroughly in AT's review that was posted this morning.

All they have to do is include the case with the phone. Bet they won't.

Not quite the same. It was people who LET GO of their Wiimotes while throwing them at their TV's at top speed that caused Nintendo to provide jackets and new straps. In other words, they were idiots.

Even Apple ads show people holding the iPhone 4 the "wrong" way.

Good companies try gaining profit by series of strategies that gain loyalty through not gouging for every penny, creating a quality product and generally supporting their customers.

Bad companies try gaining profit by squeezing every penny they can out of their customers and their product (reducing costs), marketing a "quality" product, and doing everything they can to force their customer to come back through paid maintenance or services.

Basically, good companies = pro-consumer while working in a profit. Bad companies = pro-profit while screwing everything else.

So Nintendo went out and freely provided an improvement to their device intended to protect people from their own potential misuse.

Apple is deciding not to give out the fix for their design flaw that impedes the operation of the device when held in certain ways and make their customers pay extra for it.

Your statement just makes Nintendo seem that much more of a consumer friendly company.

I think you just described Comcast to a tee.

I missed the memo. Which company are we supposed to hate this month? Apple, Microsoft or Comcast?

Why not all 3?

I loathe comcast. I own an iPhone 3G and 3Gs, but I'm gonna switch to android once my wifes contract runs out next summer.

I've always been an apple hater, but the 3G was the best smartphone at the time. Now that android has caught up, its time to switch.

Can't say I hate microsoft too much though. I'm kind of neutral toward them.

i cant deal with the stigma of apple products nemore
i aint their market so its all good and they dont care, and niether do i.
they just come off as arrogant, maybe its warranted...but i AINT got to follow along.

i bought a droid with equal parts spite and rational
i have a dream that some1 will make a droid bot teabagging that dickwad from the im a mac commcercials.

When you make a phone with 250,000 apps, that lasts all day in a half day smart phone world, and about a dozens other reasons you can tell customers: STFU and buy the bumper bitch.

After they sell 10 million a quarter you'll see what I'm talking

Laughable.

Google (a "good" company) released a phone and the only tech available through Google was Google search.

People bitch about Apples new privacy policy and decide to switch to android. Guess what, Google mines your searchs, email, phone calls/voice mails, map searches, location data, ect ect ect.

Have fun on the "hate Apple because its cool" band wagon.

Have fun on the "it's OK for one company to be bad because others are" bandwagon.

Yeah, but at least google is transparent w/ regards to your data. You can look at every piece of data they have collected on you. Can't say the same with the data that Apple is collecting from you, and you're an idiot if you believe that Apple/AT&T aren't collecting the same kinds of data.

Really? Where can I look at a list of keywords mined from my emails to provide me with advertisements in gmail?

I am 100% positive the Apple/ATT are not mining my emails or voicemails for information.

Does anybody remember when Apple dropped the price of the iphone by $200 a few months after it was first released? Most companies would shrug their shoulders and say "well, you payed what you thought was fair... prices drop, that's how it is"... but apple gave every one of those early adopters $100 in itunes credit if they claimed it. That's pretty cool for a "bad company".

But since hating Apple makes your e-peen throb, keep it up I guess.
