The Cubs were in the playoffs last year.

The Cubs didn't lose 119 games last year.

The Cubs have been over .500 in the last ten years.

Go Tigers. :D

You had me going until you talked about the Lions winning the Super Bowl...

May as well wish for world peace while you are at it.

Yeah, no doubt. The day the Lions win the Super Bowl (or are even in it) is the day I drop dead. :D

Woo Woo Woo!

3-0

The Tigers won a grand total of 3 games ALL of last April. It took them 22 games to do it.

Not this year! :D

Everybody knows this is Red Sox year.

And I repeat:

As a Tigers fan, I need something to be excited about. This 3-0 start is just that.

Demean it all you want, but it's nice to see a team that I watched lose 119 games last year get off to a nice little start.

Do I expect it to translate into a season with a winning record? No.

Do I like to see that the team I love is improving? Yes.

Oh, and we all know the Red Sox year is 1918.

it's a great start for the tigers. i wouldn't be surprised if they finished out of the cellar in their division this year.

they could even break 500. that would be a pretty amazing turn around if they did.

I would LOVE to see that. The closest that they have come in the last ten years of breaking .500 was 1997 when they finished 79-83.

Go Tigers! :D

Anyone going to the home opener today? Comerica will definitely be rocking.

3-0 may feel good, but doesn't mean much. The Blue Jays looked very sloppy. Also, the Rays started last year 3-0 because they played the Tigers. I'm slightly happier this year because our (TB) 2-2 record is against the Yankees. That would be a major improvement for us if we could go .500 against the Yankees and Red Sox. (Sigh... I know, dream on).

That said, I live in Toronto and went to see the Tuesday game. They were playing well and I think Trammell will do a good job with that team.

Ack! They're down 3-0 in the 4th!

EDIT: Tigers are down 3-1 in the bottom of the 6th... Higgy at bat with the bases loaded and two outs... A 2-run double and a TIE GAME!!!

Current standings.

Very true. And one is the free swinging Angels!
But I defer my reverence to the almighty Tigers for the moment. 4-0 is very impressive.

Of course, if that happens then hell has frozen over and pigs are flying.

Hell freezes in Michigan every year. Not sure about the pigs though... maybe that guy who kicked the dog like a football could help with that...
