granted, the OP is a chain email simply C&P. The motivations for the source are questionable. However the questions are valid.
If a black couple was victims of the same type of crime perpetrated by whites, there probably would be much more media coverage.
Look at the Duke rape case, the whole debacle that resulted in the "Beer Summit" at the White House (granted that probably would have never happened if the President had not opened his mouth) but the media initially ran with the story as a race issue, many in the media portrayed the Katrina debacle as a race issue, hell even the Mayor of NO made it a race thing, and then there is the Tawana Brawley, everyone jumped on the race bandwagon very early on.
So there is plenty of precedent set by both the black community and the media when it is a white on black crime, they both come out swinging and ask questions later.
Regardless of the embellishments of this case by groups or chain emails such as the OP, one has to ask...why does the media seem to offer such a lack of coverage in a case of black on white crime?
This story is 2 years old and yet when I first hears about it, I heard about it from here, virtually no coverage at all from any mainstream media, and I still have not heard anything about it except here.
Maybe it's the just the media as a whole, unless you are a serial killer, a small child, or a kidnap victim that resurfaces 18 years later it's just not news.
