I then actually read the post and all i have to say is I feel for you. You need to be claiming some extra cash from the insurance for moral compensation, aka gets some extra cash and get the FX60 .. OHH YES :D .. ;)

I saw the pics on bbzzdd.com first and then searched for the thread. Wow. G/L to you in getting reimbursed. You may want to get a lawyer before signing anything. That way, you'll have a better chance of getting fully recovered.

Get em' for lost wages too, you have a home business on the side too right ;)? Don't play nice with these guys, because they will not play nice with you. Accident? yes, totally unacceptable? ABSOLUTELY. This should have never happened with someone that knew waht they are doing.

Well I have to say its aggravating but it is really funny. My brand new build wrecked, but definitely worth the chuckle. I mean, think about it. Pumping insulation into your computer while torture testing it is probably just about the worst possible thing you could ever do. Heh. Oh well.

PS - no one has commented on the skull yet...

Definetly not the proper way to insulate a computer case. ;-)

I hope you dont have a problem getting their insurance to pay. Luck to you to get it resolved quickly and amicably.

Well I just took everything apart piece by piece...blew/vacuumed everything for hours. Threw the power on and here I am. At least it boots. Now let's see what is working and what isn't. Time to Prime.

I think some heads would have to roll for that one. I still curious how the idiot managed to blow a hole in the wall. The insulation hopper shouldn't have the power to literally blow a hole in the wall, and I'd think he would feel it if he knocked a hole in the wall.

Oh man. Come on now. Tell them it's all ruined. Even the heatstinks, case, and office chair!! ;)

At the very least I'd hit them for a new CPU. Because it is likely damaged. Tell em you had an Opteron 180. Tell them you got it here and that's average market value. And buy the replacement here

Well now, c'mon people. Honestly. I'm not going to commit insurance fraud if everything is working. These are hard-working Joe's - they dont need to pay higher insurance premiums because I want a faster CPU. Sh!t happens. Seems it's all working ok anyway. Primed all night fine.

I admire your honesty. I have to say that I wouldn't claim more than I thought was fair. I certainly hope they will pay you for the work it took to clean that mess up, though. If someone asked me to clean up a room like this, I wouldn't do it for under $300, plus the cost of vacuum cleaner bags! (That sure looks fiberglass-based, not cellulose-based, though I could be wrong. Fiberglass is awfully hard to completely eliminate.) If this was my machine, the main thing that would concern me is if I could get every last particle of insulation out of the computer's innards. You get a few pieces of that stuff around a fan shaft -- you can't even see it, much less clean it -- and a month later you have a fan that fails. Not big bux, but what else might go bad down the road? It is great that the machine is priming now, but I hope this doesn't turn a good system into a lemon later on. Problem is, if it does, it will probably be too late to make a claim, even though you and I, and everyone reading this thread, knows what caused it.

Yeah, this country and the world would be much better off if everyone was like you.

But you may want to ask them for at least partial damage on some of your components, since sometimes you won't see some of the damage until much later in the system's life, and would get screwed out of it, if you don't file the claims right now. You may just want to go for partial damage claim, just to get the insurance. They are really fortunate anyway, that everything is not ruined.

We do need more people like you in this world. You are truly handling this like a pure soul - but at the same time you should not let them take advantage of your kindness.

The company should be at least giving you a HUGE discount on their work, if not giving you $$ for the PC. I guarantee that your computer will never be the same and stuff most likely will start to break down in a short time. There is no way that you could clean ALL of the dust out. Your mobo and CPU might be ok, but your fans, DVD/CD, PSU, and anything else with moving parts will be effected.

I personall would replace every fan including the PSU fan. All it takes is one fan to stop spinning and - POOF - there goes your PC (well, at least part of it)

Just my $.02-

Not so sure if that's a good example of irony. The situation is unfortunate, but not ironic.

What would be ironic is if after all the insulation is blasted into your PC, your fans shut down, but your CPU actually passes the prime tests and your DFI "Crash-Party" doesn't crash anymore. That's irony.
