ZZF always had free shipping, but Newegg usually had a much lower price, and then moderate shipping, which ended up totaling a few dollars under ZZF.

So...their prices aren't that bad yet.
Let's see what you bought!!!

In this thread. Check the major components (not keyboard, mouse, monitor, case, or PSU I think) with ZZF. Newegg is cheaper. Prices in the thread include shipping.

I like NewEgg's flat-rate shipping when I buy a single item, but I still wish they would switch to weight-based shipping.

One thing to note, though: I still browse Newegg as opposed to ZZF or some other sites simply because of the great interface. Browsing products on ZZF SUCKS. I click on Athlon 64 and am brought to ONE PAGE with every single type of A64 chip on it.

Yeah, I don't know what's up with ZZF. Such a horrible interface.

it hurts every time i use it. Newegg has by far the best searching and interface of any online retailer i've ever seen.

Same here. I've recently discovered a couple other stores, but none have the great selection that NewEgg has. I recently ordered a heatsink for my processor from NewEgg, and it cost me $25 to ship it. That's just ridiculous.

Seeing how you are from alaska what do you expect? :D

Oh brother. A couple more fanbois tools.

Here's a clue, tools. Put a $20.00 stick of memory in your NewEgg cart and go to check out. Shipping: $4.99. Add another stick in the quantity and update. Shipping: $9.98. Add a 3rd stick and update quantity. Shipping: $14.97... Get it?
Oh brother, another Newegg hater troll.

Here's a clue troll, When you add up the cost of items and the shipping at other e-tailers Newegg is still usually cheaper.
Just about to place an order:

well, i think a long time ago, when it was googlegear, newegg and googlegear were pretty much neck and neck. then, googlegear dropped out (it was more than just the name-change, it seemed. their spirit died with the lawsuit?), and i guess that gives newegg free go to do whatever they want

Damn, I missed a serious stacked rebate on that for March. :(

Oh well, rebates will be kind of a pill, because I'm sending this to my son instead of here.

NewEgg also has the best real-time inventory system. And phenomenally fast packaging and shipping.

When you order something at the Egg, it is in stock and ready to go. None of this 4 hours later "We're sorry, that item is backordered..." crap that other vendors pull.

This is what I love about Newegg.

Plus, they made a customer for life out of me when they stepped up and honored the rebate for a Soyo motherboard I bought from them - a rebate that was supposed to come from Soyo itself. Not many retailers that would do that.

Wow a blast from the past. I'm glad you found a few products to back up your claim.

If it makes you feel better I have been moving abou 45% of my business to ZZF because it saves me $25 on every system built. I emailed Newegg and let them know about it but their response was a nice canned message. They claim to reduce shipping on multiple item orders but I keep track of that and they do not. I emailed them back to refute their claim but got no response. This is from someone who spent over $50,000 with them in the last 2 years.

*chuckle*

"$129.99 EATX Case with Powersupply and 45 pound sandbag" = FREE SHIPPING!
"$54.99 256MB stick of PC3200 = $15.99 FEDEX SAVER SHIPPING!"
