Whoever has seen the original Click Here
knows it is a true classic. They are remaking it with Keanu Reeves as Klaatu and it has me wondering if it will do the original any justice. I feel it was a movie they should have left alone as it will be very difficult to capture the essence of the original.

Here is the link to the new one: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0970416/

What are your thoughts?

Wow...talk about fucking up a classic...

Today's special effects technology has the potential to do great things with some of the classics, but I'd hope they would cast better than that.

On a different subject...anyone read "Rendevouz with Rama?"

It appears they're working on a movie version of this...FINALLY!
Rumors say Morgan Freeman will play the lead.

I guess I don't really have a problem with them remaking it, but Keanu Reeves?? That's just wrong.

On second thought, don't remake it. It's just too damn good as is.

I probably saw this a long time ago, but for the life of me I recall nothing.

Unless he's playing Gort. Keanu has the proper talent to play a robot with no lines.

Sweet - if it goes well there are just a few more plot lines to pursue... :)

This bothers me. There a lot of good new stories being penned but Hollywood won't take risks. I hope this tanks.

I can remember watching this when it aired for the first time on network TV back in the sixties. I had to be somewhere between 5 and 8 years old, I don't know if I got to sleep that night.

It is such a classic to me and such a simple story I wonder if this remake will pan out?

They couldn't find someone other than Keanu? He's SUCH a great and talented actor...

I bought some relatives a toshiba A2 player during the walmart sale. Went over there house during christmas and they played this movie to show how nice it played older stuff. Although a scifi guy it was the first time I had seen that movie. A pretty good movie with a bit of twilight zone feel. An update toit would be interesting as I'm sure many current viewers haven't seen or heard about it.

I've been hoping Hollywood would get around to remaking this sometime. Just don't like the idea of Reeves playing Klaatu.

The original is perhaps my all-time favorite Arthur C. Clarke novel. I've been hoping they'd make it into a movie for quite a while. Someone like George Lucas or Spielberg..so that it gets done right.

heh-heh...Spielberg did a pretty good job with "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" and some of his other movies.
