whao, this thread evolved quite a bit.... a lot of ppl in the first 3/4 believe TDKR is the best ever / most epic-est.... and now the latter 1/4 thinks it stinks.

I'm guessing that the gas alleviates pain, but I have no idea what it is. Also, it's not easy to answer because we have no idea what actually happened to him. All we know is he got the crap beat out of him after saving Talia.

Exactly, we have no idea and that sucks.

I'm more inclined to believe heart attack from 48 hour sex-a-thon with Catwoman. Anne Hathaway in that movie sure made my Dark Knight Rise. :awe:

hmm, saw it for the 2nd time. This time at IMAX. The beginning plane scene was spectacular.

How did Catwoman manage to reach Batman and Bane without the Batpod making any noise?

LOL, i don't give a fck though. Thoroughly and totally enjoyed the movie. A complete entertainer.

What happened to the necklace?

Did Wayne give the necklace to catwoman, or did he leave it in the cave, thus giving Robin/JGL/Whatever a location for the GPS to home into?

yeah he gave it to catwoman, who's his new ho. Wayne knew it had the transponder or whatever they can use to trace it and went to Venice where he knew Alfred would track him down and realize he's ok.

There is zero way I can come to this conclusion, and the bolded part of your statement is IMHO completely wrong.

then what was the point of "His mother's pearl necklace is missing" line from the movie?

My GF's conclusion (since we never see the necklace on catwoman at the end) is that Bruce put the necklace in the batcave and then gave Robin (JGL) the GPS transmitter so he could find the batcave.

I refuse to believe that Bruce left it on Catwoman so that Alfred can find them, because that totally destroys the scene where Alfred tells Bruce that is his dream.

For me, it is clear that Alfred is surprised when he sees Bruce sitting there at the end, which is what makes the scene so powerful. Bruce said "Bye" to Alfred yet found it important enough to give Alfred some closure.

I just came back from IMAX... all I gotta say is that I'm not quite sure if what I saw was Batman Rises or Inception 2. I was almost expecting Bruce Wayne to wake up at the end of the movie and it was all a dream.

too many plot holes and not enough....reason for any of their actions except Tate which even then was twiddling her thumbs.
Batman was lifeless, he had barely any drive and was more funny than anything.
Catwoman was definitely the highlight and she got all the best camera angles easily.
The whole prison thing was a failure IMO.
action was average and just wasn't any different visually from TDK except that first IMAX big fight.
They spent a lot of time on Blake and not enough on bane/batman

I agree with the previous post being that TDK was good because it focused on killing characters that mattered and not a whole city

Just got back. Very enjoyable movie, even with plot holes. It was more of a succesor to BB than TDK. I didnt really enjoy Alfred crying. I understand it, but i didn't like it.

Here's a curveball. I'm going to admit that i have seen anne Hathaway's last movie, which she filmed right before TDKR. It's called One Day, and it's a weepy chick flick with the plot device of following her and this guy on the same day every year, for about 20 years. The day is July 15, which is St Swithin's Day. Its kind of a UK Groundhog day. It's an obscure reference lost on an American audience...

Back to TDKR...the orphanage is called St Swithin's, and there are several mentions in TDKR. As they say in the movie, there are no coincidences...

There's some kind of inside joke or nod there. Kinda curious what it is. Its too obscure to be a coincidence. Also, i like the billy bragg song.

Anyway sorry for the diversion. Liked the movie and the symmetry with BB.

I enjoyed it immensely. Anyone else notice Batman Begins has spiked in popularity over at a certain site frequented by people who may or may not say "ARRRRRRRR!!!!"? I found that interesting. :p
