I personally think this movie was terribly underrated. I remember loving it as a kid and I bought it on DVD and still love it. Thoughts?
 
anyone care to elaborate as to what the movie was?

If it sounds interesting I might have to go look for a copy to watch

Whew.. well it's a fantasy movie so it's kinda long to explain. If you like fantasy movies I would strongly suggest renting it.

Great DVD.. Has a long making-of featurette.
 
Oh my god. For a kid that movie is simply too freaky. I remember having nightmares about some of those things. I've seen the DVD a few times recently though and it's pretty amazing. The effects in that look better than the new star wars movies.

wow, this is messed up. i only saw that movie once, and it was when i was 9 or 10 (i'm 20 now). i don't even think i knew what the movie was called, because i watched it over my friends house, but somehow the title dark crystal made me think of those weird bird things.

i think i'm psychic about movies, sometimes i can see a few seconds of a movie i've never seen before and guess the title correctly. weird...

Yeah, it's weird what our brain remembers sometimes. The same thing happened to me with Ice Pirates, of all movies. Saw it once when I was in elementary school and I remember just about every single detail of it to this day.

I totally agree.. I must have watched that about 40 times when I was a kid, and I bought that DVD too🙂
