Hanks? I always pictured Harrison Ford as playing Robert Langdon. I think the book even said they looked alike.

That movie will draw even more fire that the one a couple of years ago regarding Jesus.
Look at the flack the book drew from the religious fanatics that feared that their sheep would not know the difference between fiction and fact and/or start asking questions that they did not want to address.
Now mulitply the audience by a factor of ten or more. (readers vs movie goers)
The distributers will never be able to buy that amount of publicity that the religious sectors will generate. They will be preaching against it from the pulpit and taking out ads against the movie. That will peak people's intersst in it even more that it did for the actual book.

i read this book recently, and while it was a very good book, it is factually extremely incorrect. it kinda pisses me off that they are making this because it will spread false information about religion, more specifically catholocism and christianity. its the kind of ammo most trolls need to make it hell for the rest of us.
if the movie was just going to be seen for what it is, id love for it to be produced. the book was great...very tricky, entertaining, and riddled with suspense.

Considering all the other publications that have been made, one wonders why everybody and their brother wants to try to tear down this book?

because it makes no mention that it is fiction anywhere. also, it really puts people in a bad light that are religious and makes them look stupid, even though he never directly says it is all factual. it basically offends a ton of people because it tells them everything they believe is made-up beyond the shadow of a doubt, which is entirely not true at all.
You mean besides the fact that it's available in the FICTION section of libraries and bookstores? :roll:
the female character is going to be really weak. Anyways this story has been done many times. Look at national treasure.
There's no such thing as bad publicity. I predict this movie will be a big hit. BTW, what Jesus movie are you referring to? The Passion of the Christ was very well received by the Christian community. The only movie that I can think of that you might be referring to is The Last Temptation of Christ, which was released in the 1980s.

Well...they are nothing compared to the gross scientific and technical errors (which lead to some of most horrendous plot device errors) in Angels and Demons.
I'll see it anyway...

I wish they would have used the factual based books for this story.
Da Vinci Code took the popular Templar/Hiram/Le Serpent Rouge/Oak Island/etc stories, spiced them up and made a story of it based on fiction.
It's only going to cause more doubt and confusion.
