I haven't been watching Jeopardy as regular the last few months but i did see she was on a winning streak as i'd see her if i flipped to that every now & again.

A sad & inspirational story at the same time.

Disgusting that they had to politicize her death and contrast it Donald Trump, Brexit, and Steve Bannon. Really soured the story for me, and basically tarnished whatever she thinks she lived for.

It's literally the first line of the article. I find that sort of reporting disgusting, basically injecting how you feel about things while also trying to cover a sob story. It's one-sided and spineless of the author.

Well...

This part is a reasonable expression of your feelings.
and basically tarnished whatever she thinks she lived for.
Them talking about some of the ways this year was shit tarnishes her donating money to a cancer charity? I'm not sure I see the link there.

First bit was honest until that last line. No, just--no. You are a worse person than this author, I'm afraid.

Anyway, objectively speaking--this was an awful year. Fascism pretty much winning everywhere in the world should give you pause. I agree that it doesn't belong in this article, but you can't just pretend that isn't on everyone's mind right now. It very much colors how we perceive any news these days.

Anyway, awful story. Thanks for ruining my day, OP.

She's up to over 100k now and will be on today's episode as well. They haven't said how many days she wins or what her total winnings will be.

Welp. She's officially a better person than me.

Although that's not hard. But RIP anyway, miss Jeopardy lady.

I saw her 3rd day episode the other day. I have to admit, I wasn't aware of her story until today, and my girlfriend (a librarian) and I were cheering for the cute blonde librarian in the 3rd spot. She lost by betting too much in Final Jeopardy.

A friend of mine's son married a girl, and she was dead a year later from colon cancer. Sometimes life's a real bitch

This made me cry. I'll watch Jeopardy tonight and cheer her on.

It was an awesome story and yeah...I was tearing up too. Alex did little blurb at the end of the show and you could see his eyes welling up.
