Can't view as I'm at work, but even as I was watching Benjamin Button, I was thinking how it put me in mind of Forrest Gump.

Same screen writer for both movies....ripped himself off? I still want to read the short story though and see how screwed up the movie was.

The Wikipedia synopsis of the short story makes it out to be vastly different than the movie.

I told my wife and SIL that they were basically the same movie, but Forrest Gump was done a lot better with the timing and spacing out.

Don't forget the sweet soundtrack.

Interesting enough, two of my friends were commenting on how Benjamin Button reminded them so much of Forrest Gump (the movies, not the actual characters). Forrest Gump was much, MUCH better though.

Though, we didn't care. Most of us were pissed that they only showed 6 of the 7 lightning strikes.

I've read the short story and only read a synopsis of the movie. Sounds like they made it all positive and "feel good."

The short story is online somewhere. Wikipedia has the link I think.

I wouldn't go quite as far as calling it all positive and feel good.
