The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

Already a thread from a few days back...

I totally agree though. It was the first movie I saw at the theatre in years, and well worth it. Pacing and progression is excellent, but I like long movies and consider anything below 2.5 hours short.

I thought it was pretty good, except for the random hurricane katrina subplot. Some say it's a metaphor, I say it's a cheap way of getting people emotional.

Brad Pitt has several housing programs and other things down in NO. So it could have been added to help support his causes as well.

And how sexy was Cate Blanchett during her dancing years? FWOOOOWEE. She never really did it for me before, but MAN did they make her look good.

Jut saw this two day ago and thought it was amazing (9/10) - but the only thing I didn't get was the guy who made the clock. Was he connected to or related to Benjamin in anyway? Or was it just random chance that Benjamin got to go backwards?

wow I felt the same way. I never thought she had it but damn she caught my eye during those scenes

I felt it was an overly artistic, inferior, Forrest Gump. There are several movies this year that are much better

My initial guess is that it had something to do with it. After thinking about it some more, I think it was more of a thematic thing that went along with the "going backwards" story. Maybe to show or explain the desire of people who would love to go backwards.

Movie of the Year? LOL its January 4th!! Bit early to give away that award no?

It debuted in 2008, so I believe it would qualify for 2008 Movie of the year.

P.S. - I just came back from my second viewing. No tears this time.
