The Crysis poll

Played it on my current system with 7600gt and A64 3200+ stock (don't feel like upgrading $$$).

So the poll is to find out if only high/current-enders play it?

e8400, 4GB, 8800GT @ 1680 x 1050. I've installed it but I haven't played it. I'll probably end up lowering the resolution just so I can enjoy some eye candy.

Your poll is fail. It should be streamlined like so:

"I have played Crysis on:
GF7 series or lesser
GF8 series
GF9 series
GT2X series
X1900 series or lesser
HD2x series
HD3x series
HD4x series
I have not played Crysis"

As it is now, it's too confusing and makes no sense.

I played it on a 3870 and was completely underwhelmed by the game.

Could be a difference between what card people had when they first played Crysis a year ago, and what card they have now

i.e., a year ago x had a 7 series card and played crysis but he's sinced upgraded and now has an 8 series and plays crysis

8800GTS here. I played ~15 hours of multiplayer, and it was pretty awful. I haven't bothered with single player yet.

is your e4300 at stock speeds, clamum?
No it's at about 2 GHz right now. I could probably push it more but I need to get a better HSF unit (just have stock cooling now)

I should take back "most settings on high", for some reason I put down my Crysis: Warhead settings (well, "high" = "Gamer"). I'll have to check the exact settings for Crysis when I get home as I haven't played it in a little while. I'm guessing the settings are similar to Warhead though.

I played it on a P4 2.8 and a 6600gt when it first came out. There were some terribly laggy times in that game to be sure, but I enjoyed it enough that I finished it.

Most recently finished on a 3400+ and an HD4850. That was a much more enjoyable experience, although still quite slow at times due to the CPU.

Played both on a E6750 @ 3.2GHz, 8600GTS, 4GB RAM at 1440x900 (native res).
DX9 on WinXP, settings on Mainstream except for texture quality on Gamer.
Looked great, played great, had slowdown in a few places with multiple things going on, but nothing terrible. I enjoyed it, but it felt like I played the same game twice. 🙁

The demo actually ran fine for me with a X800 XL and an A64 3500+ on all medium settings in Windows XP. I didn't understand what all the hubbub about system requirements were when it was the best looking game I had ever seen, and it ran remarkably well on my crappy system.

Now I have a HD 3850 and a X2 4200+, and I played through the game at high settings with only a couple of slow downs. I thought I would need to turn down the settings in the snow portion of the game, but it really ran fine there.

I am thinking that it just doesn't run that well in DX10 mode, or maybe just not in Vista?

It wasn't just the final level but the whole last quarter or so of the game. Any time you fought a group of aliens outdoors, the framerate tanked on pretty much any settings. I first dropped down the resolution at the point where you have to defend some sort of restaurant on a hill from the aliens.

Crytek has already said that there won't be any further patches for the original game though.

lets see, my desktop is a C2D @ something just under 3ghz, 2.9 or even 2.8maybe.. someFSB x6.5 i think. I dunno, I used to be more into that kind of thing when I was younger.. now I just set the FSB as fast as I could get it to post and left it there. Video card is 8600GT.. anyway, no, I never played crysis.. whats it about?

I have a 4870 and the game looks awesome.
Not as awesome as all those demo video's Crytek released, but pretty darn good anyway.

I havent finished it yet and probably never will. Its only about 1/10th as entertaining as Far Cry. And since a lot of folks didnt care too much for Far Cry I'd say Crytek has screwed us over in every way.
