The Crysis poll

I voted for the first option (HD4850) but I must add I stopped playing after about 3 hours when it got boring.

C2D8500/Radeon4870. Never bought or played Crysis. I grabbed the demo when I had my 2900XT, but never made it past the opening scenes. Something about watching a 1fps slideshow really turned me off from the game. After that, I lost any motivation to get the full version, and with the DRM in Warhead, I have no motivation to buy that product either.

Isn't the 4870 a decent card? Why did you have a 1FPS slide show? 30-40 fps on my 8800GT.

X2 4200+ / 2GB RAM/ XP / 7800GT / 1680x1050 for Crysis
X2 4200+ / 2GB RAM/ XP / HD4850 / 1680x1050 for Crysis: Warhead

I played Crysis on Medium settings in WinXP at either 1280x1024 or 1024x768 (I think the former since that was my last monitor's native res) and got decent FPS 20-40.

My 8800gt manages low-mid 20's for most of the game. Your 4870 should run it quite well.

I only got about half way thru the game on my 8800 GTX.

I played at the full 2560x1600 as i dislike using lower than native, so i had to run medium for most settings IIRC.

On my GTX 280 i've only done some running around while Frapsing the runs for benchmarks.

First one, but I haven't played it in ages. I'm about 1/4 of the way through I believe.

played on both a 2600XT and x1800XT here. the 1800 was a bit better thanks to its 512mb of ram, but the 2600 faired surprisingly well. i kinda want to move to a 4670, but at that point i think i'd be CPU limited (e4300)

What are you attempted to learn or prove with this poll? That people who spend the most money on graphics cards also have an interest in the most graphically demanding game? That's a stretch, isn't it? 😉

E8400 @ 4GHz 8800GT 4gb ram 1680x1050
played the demo, did not really like Farcry 2.0 as it was well just like the first one 5/10

I would think almost everyone here has played the original. 😛

For most of the game, I used a GTX 280 with 1260x960, no AA and a mix of high and very high settings, which usually kept it above 40fps. I turned it down to 1024x768 during some alien fights near the end of the game when it started to drop below 30.

I haven't gotten around to Warhead yet, but I will play it once I have some time.

Q9450 + GTX260

I have not played it, Bioshock is the most advanced game that I have thrown at it. I did disable the post processing effects because I hate the way bloom / hdr looks, not for performance reasons.

You would think so right, but there are people actually telling me it is a stretch.

i played and finished it on my P4 3.2 system with x1950 AGP. it was painfully slow at times and had to run it with low settings and looked like crap. looked worse than older games i play.
