I used to know some people who were really into paintball, and they had some sick setups. Nothing prepared me for what I found today: a tricked-out weapon of the future custom-built for LASER TAG. I used to play laser tag when I was little, and I had the dippy little guns. I approve of this monster.
Over the next 10 months, Mike and his pal/fellow laser hacker Duncan, designed and built the ultimate LTTO compatible IR weapons system. The Scorpion is Mil-spec from top to bottom. The most obvious feature is the 4 rocket magazine which attaches to the top of the weapon. 4 Mac pneumatic relay/solonoids control the airflow from the 3000psi air tank to the various rockets through stainless steel plumbing...The trigger/grip for firing the rockets is from an actual tank and was found on ebay...In addition to being a rocket launcher, the weapon functions as a high powered LTTO sniper rifle with a 1500 ft range thanks to the big 4? adjustable focal length lens.
Sometimes you see something that's such a ridiculous case of overkill you just have to stand up and say, "Way to go; that's the most awesome thing I've seen this week!" This is one of those times. So way to go; that's the most awesome thing I've seen this week. I don't even want to think about how much something like that would cost if the gentleman decided to make a business out of these kinds of hacks and mods, but I'd be willing to put a heavy dent into a credit card for a few of those.
