The Core

It was pretty good. I watched it last week. It was kind of predictable, but gives a good subwoofer workout

Chicago will make you bleed out of your eyes and ears. I about thought them people would never shut up, and they never did!

So it's a comedy? 😀

Rent it for what it's worth: escapist entertainment that isn't even loosely based on real life science. I give it a 3/5 for mindless fun.

i vowed never to rent this movie because of the talking ads on another forum i used to visit. every page had it on it and it would automatically do this audio preview thing, SO annoying...

Mental picture of Depp in 'Once Upon A Time in Mexico'...where's the screencap of this with cliche Intarweb phrase?? (M4H...isn't this your job????

Well, I watched part of it. Silly, silly. Driving through solid rock at 60 knots. HAHAHA. Was almost unwatchable. And the moron at Hollywood video told me that it's a MUST see.

I downloaded the first half of the movie (yes, I did!) and couldn't stand to watch all of it. I knew there was something wrong with the movie when a freaking construction worker with headphones on couldn't hear/feel/sense the freaking space shuttle landing right behind him -- the scene is something you have to see to believe, and then quickly turn off.

It's based on bad science.

Armageddon was too, just not to this degree.

As far as a movie is concerned, Armageddon was better. The graphics of the shuttle landing were very good actually. The lightning storm was fair. The other effects were rather poor by today's standards especially the GG bridge scenes. Any engineer will tell you that tires are thermoset thus they will not look like chocolate melting and sticking to the road!

Unobtainium? Come on! Someone has been reading too many BitBoys articles and sucking back on jolt colas spiked with some kind of organic solvent. 😛

EDIT: The movie was quite grainy for some reason!

Cheers!

it is entertaining, but then i'm a big fan of sci-fi.

like others said, the movie is based on very bad science. on the upside, the bs it spews can be quite funny 😀

I loved how that "ship" was doing 60 knots under its own power through molten lava. 😛

I rented it last weekend. Mindless fun, I actually enjoyed the space shuttle crash landing more. That poor dude with the grinder turning around and seeing the space shuttle a few feet from where he was working. 😀
