The iron cross? That's a German medal that was awarded for acts of heroism and bravery (without regard for nationality or social class of the soldier) in WWI and WWII.

yes but its also used by hate groups 😛 and by punk rockers heh

Name a punk rocker that used the Confederate Flag.

you might want to re-read what they were talking about. a Iron Cross is something different then a confederate flag.

But hey not everyone can understand what they said!

Also the logo you see daily on West Coast Chopper hats, T shirts, etc and on Discovery Channel whenever Jessie James is mentioned with his company...

People act as if the North didn't own slaves.

They were not considered "slaves" . The people they worked for did not "own" them like they did in the south.

Uhh..not really. It is really sad just how bad textbooks are these days.

Lincoln only freed the slaves to piss off the South, he couldn't give two sh!ts about them. Lincoln wasn't the wonderful man that he's painted to be.

The South will rise again!! ;-) (I'm from Georgia 🙂)

Hey, whats wrong with swastika? It is an ancient Finnish (Nordic) symbol that describes the sun. It was used to mark the sacret places and as asymbol of powerful men (shamans/ tribe leaders) thousands of years ago. It was also the symbol of arian gods (Zeus, Jupiter) which is why Hitler saddly chose to abuse it. It was also Finnish army symbol LOONG before Hitler adopted it...

One more thing, why does the north consider slaves only 3/5 human?
link

how does that help? it was a compromise that only benifited the south with more electoral votes😛

the fact is this, the confederate flag has come to symbolize hatred and has been used as such since the end of the war. trying to fly it now out of pride just ignores its ugly past. like a german flying a nazi flag because it "united" his people.

"founded . . . its foundations are laid, its cornerstone rests, upon the great truth that the negro is not equal to the white man; that slavery, subordination to the superior race, is his natural and normal condition. This, our new government, is the first, in the history of the world, based on this great physical, philosophical and moral truth."

1861 Alexander Hamilton Stephens (1812-1883) vice president of the Confederacy

As some one in the military, I find it sort of offensive.

My I ask why...if you don't mind?

Well, lets say that California wanted to break off from the United States. So they raise their flag and go to war. Afterwards, when the rebellion had been defeated, I would feel the same way about their flag being flown. It is a traitors flag.

The traitors were the people that wanted to form a stronger centralized government and remove as many state rights as possible.

It was also used in eastern europe, north america (several native american tribes, IIRC), and several other places throughout the world. 😉
