These Congressional representatives are well aware of the facts and don't care; they want what they want with absolute disdain for our Constitution, the will of the voters, and the future of our Republic. That's interesting. The only Constitutional guidance I see is in the Twelfth Amendment:

The President of the Senate shall, in the presence of the Senate and House of Representatives, open all the certificates and the votes shall then be counted;

The person having the greatest number of votes for President, shall be the President, if such number be a majority of the whole number of Electors appointed....

And the other condition doesn't matter here.

The Constitution doesn't say who shall count the votes. It also doesn't say how the votes shall be counted, presumably because how to count was assumed to be common knowledge.

And that worked great until the election of 1876. Apparently, certain southern states engaged in fraud, by methods such as intimidation of African-American voters. (Sounds familiar!) So they settled that, by making a commission of fifteen people to count the votes.

Ten years after that settlement they enacted the Electoral Count Act. Which is somewhat confusing, and little-tested in court, but it's what's followed today. And that's how Congress learned to count.

There wouldn't be a role for Congress to play here, for them to take a vote, if taking this vote in either direction wasn't part of their sworn duty to our nation. They are not required to vote the way you want them to.

Their concerns of election fraud are shared by many millions of Americans, and were never fully reviewed or addressed. It puts into question not only the election of 2020 but of all future elections as well. They do not trust the process and are objecting. Far worse things will occur so long as the alt-reality bubble continues to exist and we cannot find meaningful ways to cooperate as one nation.
