C64 - great for games, sucked as a all-around computer.

Apple II+ was where it's at.

WOW! I'm surprised people around here have heard of the Plus/4. I had two of them which my dad used to write his papers on for his Masters Degree back in the day. Imagine my disappointment when I learned that you couldn't play any games on them. So I went out and bought my own C64. Then got an Amiga for a graduation present from HS. Ahhh those were the days! Skate or Die on the C64 was one of my favs. That and California Games. Shadow of the Beast II was great on the Amiga. I loved those old machines...

Falcon Patrol II ... Karate Master ... I have a list of games I finished on the C64.

Hmm - remembering those AD&D "Gold box" games. Pool Of Radiance - 6 5 1/2 inch Floppys did that come on ... or at least, it was quite a number.

Ahh ... I feel like grabbing my emulater & having a bash at it right away :).

I'd have to say Jumpman was definately one of my favorites along with M.U.L.E and the good old Flight Simulator!!!

Never did make it through all 30 levels of Jumpman in one sitting!

I loved my commie.. Problem is, both I had, the port 2 ended up dying for some reason.. Or maybe just the button wouldn't work on that port.

SUCKED because a LOT of games used port 2 for some reason. I miss it :(

Hat Trick, how I loved thee. International Karate (whichever had 3 people at once) you were my life for quite some time.

I'd love to be able to play Gunship and F-19 Stealth Fighter again. Turrican rocked too!

I loved my C128. I think I spent more time on that computer than any other I've had. OF course I wasn't as old then.

Wizard of Wor ... damn that brought back memories :)

I remember once I was playing Yi-ar-kung-fu (or what is was called) with a few friends after school, they both had a go, and then I played for 2 hours straight without dying, they went home, I never saw them leave :D

Man, I loved my buddies C64. I had the Tandy CoCo...remember those little pos's? I saw it in my Mom's attic when I went home last Christmas, right next to my rockin' 1200/1600 baud dual channel modem.....brings back memories.

shathal - bubble bobble did and still does KICK ASS!, I had it on my NES and have it my Snes emulator now, couldn't get it to work on tape with my C64 though.

Amigaman - I had a couple of Plus/4's too, I played games on them though, I had a tape deck, it looked just like the C64's but was black.

You guys are workin' me! I remember having all of that stuff.

Heck, I even had a separate phone line added to my house (a teenager at the time) so I could go online with QLink!

Accolade & Epyx ruled the sports gaming arena with HardBall! Summer/Summer II/Winter/World Games and Street Sports BBall/Fball/Soccer.

Ace was my favorite fighter sim.

My two C-64s also had that sound chip and a program called SID (I think) that would play MIDI songs that nearly sounded like the real thing off the radio (no lyrics, of course).

Those were the days!

I can't believe other people remember Jumpman, Temple of Apshai, M.U.L.E. (Dan Bunten is dead now, btw - RIP), and Raid Over Moscow!

Summer Games was pretty cool, too. I never could figure how to do some of those events, like cycling.

Anyone remember the original Test Drive, by Accolade?

I have some very fond memories of a game I used to have for my C128 (in C64 mode though :)) called Knight Games. That ruled. I've still got my commodore computer and monitor in the closet, though I don't have a power supply for the 1571 floppy so I can't do much with it. Wonder if we could make a router on a floppy for one of those . . . . :)

Best overall C64 game, hands down - SPEEDBALL! Man, I wish they would remake that.
