Even though I have a bachelor's of English.

So how stupid is this? Just because I wasn't born in the US doesn't mean I can't speak English! My degree in ENGLISH should be proof enough, but nooooooooooooo... I have to take a test to determine if I can get into a literature class. I MAJORED in literature!

WTF at these stupid institutions.

I need a gender literature class to get my teaching license. Apparently all the books I read in my undergrad classes didn't have a single story that dealt with gender issues.

The point is I shouldn't even have to go in and waste my time taking it. My degree is proof enough.

Why are you going to community college if you already finished your undergrad?

Apparently you are still in grammar school since your reading comprehension skills are near zero.

Wow the state making stupid rules, so they can make you take a useless class... so it can make a few extra dollars for community schools....

Sounds normal to me

I heard something funny today. A girl was walking by me talking to someone and said "It doesn't matter what you write for this class as long as you write it good."

MUAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA

Four things (3 are meant as gentle ribbing):
1. Anyone who writes "comm coll" should have their "bachelor's of English" revoked.
2. Anyone who writes "bachelor's of English" isn't as fluent as he thinks.
3. Having a degree in English is not the same thing as having a degree in literature. ("My degree in ENGLISH... I MAJORED in literature!")
4. You could have been born in Brooklyn and have a PhD and they would still make you take the class if it is a requirement for teaching and you haven't fulfilled it.

That is all. :) Good luck in your teaching career!
