The Colour of magic

Thanks for the tip. I just put Hogfather on my Netflix list. Hopefully will remember to do the same with the new one.

Haven't seen the first one yet, I need to see if the local rental place has it.

I wish they would do Reaper Man, but I don't know if it would work better as live-action, high-end CGI, or all live except the Reaper himself.

I thought there was suppsoed to be an animated version of Reaper Man but I haven't seen it. The reason I say this is because on one of the other animated movies (Wyrd Sisters or Soul Music), I swear there was a preview for Reaper Man.

They need to just skip the first few books. Pratchett was still fleshing out his universe then and a lot of stuff wasn't kept.

Sorry ro resurrect an old thread but The Colour of Magic has been released on DVD and Blu-Ray in the UK. My pre-order shipped Monday. WOOT!

I wish they'd make more of these. Hogfather was probably better than CoM for anyone currently looking for DVD torrents.

I'd scheduled The Hogfather last time I saw that it was on, but somebody was watching TV in that room when it came on and canceled it :|

Why do you have to bring piracy into this? Just buy the movie if you're a fan of Discworld and Terry Pratchett. I'm sure it'll be released in the US at some point if you don't want to or can't import it.

DVD arrived today and I just finished watching it. It was good, but not as good as Hogfather. Hogfather seemed to be more true to the story and the characters were pretty much dead on. The characters in this movie seemed to differ quite a bit, imo.

They also omitted several things, but since it's actually the story from The Colour of Magic and The Light Fantastic all in one movie, I guess they had to leave some stuff out.

Definitely a must buy if you are a Discworld fan.

Oh, and I've heard that ION TV will be playing it in it's entirety in the US on Nov. 23. 2008, so you can check it out on TV soon.

Does anyone know if Hogfather is on Netflix Instant Watch? If not, I will just buy it.

Unfortunately, it is only on snail mail Netflix.

Not on Netflix yet 🙁

it just came out on DVD in the UK like 3 or 4 days ago. not even released in the US yet so you might have to wait a bit for it to be on Netflix.
