If the thesis is that testosterone levels were too high for the establishment of civilization until 50,000 years ago, that doesn't mean that any amount of testosterone is antithetical to civilization.

The point of the OP, and it holds, is that in thoses times any problem between individuals was forcibly "solved" through violence and the law of the most powerfull, that was inherent to the people s neurological activity, they could do nothing else than act this way, any social behaviour was based on total domination, that is, to dominate completely or be killed.

That's still how "liberals" operate. Dominate by law, forcing you to live a lifestyle approved by them. They just want to dominate on a larger scale.

I was addressing a narrower point about testosterone which had been made by another poster. I'm not sure why you replied with this as I expressed no particular disagreement with it. I don't necessarily disagree with the research cited by the OP. However, I'm uninterested in the ideological polemics of the thread. They serve no purpose.

It s the other way around, people called conservative are advocating for the freedom to use slavery as a mean to prop up their own wealth, as such they are rooted in the behaviour the OP is talking about, wich answer the following sentence btw :

The purpose is to show that the conservatives are old fashioned, the way it used to be a few thousands years ago.

The first statement is an outright lie. The second statement is predicated on the assumption that a new idea is a better idea. An assumption that's wrong as often as it's right.

The first statement is totaly true, that is the "freedom" advocated by stupid conservatives who know very well that never a single man could accumulate more wealth than allowed by his intrinsical productivity and work, to get more one has to use slavery.

Do you know what the world was like a few thousand years ago?

A few thousands is not 50 000 years, besides, thoses sumerian pic are some kind of idealisation but this is not representative of theses societies real life.

This is hilarious.

Moonbeam raises smug self-satisfaction to an art form.

He's the ultimate troll on this site. Unfortunately the douchebags that run this place have canonized him and worship at his altar.

You've been infracted for mod callouts previously so I presume you're willing to do the time off.

That is what happens when the admin community treats it's members as peasants instead or subjects. The peasants revolt in a public manner. Imagine how you people would be treated if you treated us with even an ounce of respect. Wait...I doubt you can. Something tells me you know nothing about respect

You seem unhappy here.

That's all you got? Also, if it was such a cooked up rumor, why did that portion of the ACA get removed right after it got brought to light? Did the right exaggerate about it? Sure they did. Did they cook it up? Hardly. It's also quite ironic you are associating the right and lies about the ACA.

Same people who were complaining about "death panels" are now complaining about insufficient cost controls in ACA.

moonbeam is a nutcase. I think we all can agree.

conserning the article. i do half believe it. I remember reading a article that states 50k years ago human bodies were far more muscled then we are today. it really kinda makes sense in that testosterone reduced and such society changed.

but you can't compare a human now to one 50k years ago.

Just because someone is not a "manly man" does not mean they are going to have a higher IQ.

I know a few guys who are very smart and yet what i consider "manly". just as i have seen girly guys who are dumber then a brick. I don't think there is proof one way or another.

And what does that have to do with the price of beans on mars? When did health care get plugged into the discussion?

Healthcare is just one example of how the conservative wants to see society fail.

Conservatives are constantly labeling progressive steps as danger. And that is a result of their defective mind treating everything as a threat. There is even a scientific study about where this defect came from.

Big government is bad - unless of course it benefits a conservative ideal. Government needs to stay out of my personal business, but, if it is about what a woman does with her body,... then the government should step in and decide what can/can't be done. There is no significant threat in Big Government - since the conservatives are clearly for it.

ACA is bad - it even has death panels! No it doesn't. I don't see any death panels anywhere. Nor anything on the horizon. But, this point was hyped up and sensationalized over and over again on how bad ACA is. When, it has proven the be, for quite a few people, a great thing - even former critics of it. This comes from the conservatives fears that people with poor health will now live - and, since they will live, they may do something bad to the conservatives,.. it is sickening to want to "thin the herd out". That would be the only reason to oppose and still continue to oppose ACA. Even well after it has proven to work for people.

Stem cell research. It is like eating a baby - to make sure someone can walk again!! Opposition of stem cell research is disturbing. I am not sure why anyone would oppose this,... unless an alarmist conservative with a defective mind comes along and starts to hur dur dur,..

Same sex marriage, destroys the idea of marriage. Nope - heterosexuals have done more than enough to be held accountable for that task. But, in opposing progressive society growth, because of alarmist fear, same sex marriage is vilified.

Now, in keeping with the subject at hand, how about you provide examples of how liberals have been counter progressive to the growth of our society and civilization?? Where have liberals held back our growth?

Where are there ACA Death Panels? Where and where was someone like Sarah Palin's child and grand parents denied ACA?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_panel

Palin's claim, however, was debunked, and it has been referred to as the "death panel myth",[1] as nothing in any proposed legislation would have led to individuals being judged to see if they were worthy of health care.

Again - no where.

Nor was there ever any threat of such a thing - like you are claiming there was.

You are a liar,.. like a typical defective alarm that won't stop blaring. There is no threat. There was no threat. There never will be a threat.

Also, 3 pages in, and could someone please point out where liberals are holding back the progress of civilization?

A list would be nice, thank you.

These are some traditional concepts about the evolution of Homo Sapiens Sapiens. Note that the estimate of emergence of physical modernity does not align with this study but the estimate of emergence of behavioral modernity does in fact match with the study of these scientists. The problem with these ideas is that in fact there is lots of genetic variation in current populations of Homo Sapiens Sapiens and lots of characteristics of Homo Neanderthalensis and Homo Denisovan are considered to actually fall in the variation of human characteristics found in current human populations from Africa to Eurasia to Melanesia.
